-- got to bring in our season Chicago dot com Bears beat writer John moon Mullin with a view from the moon and -- one of the subplots coming into this game was not the benching of Chris Harris. And Meriweather. And today you know Chris Harris being inactive but what about the play of Chris Conte and Major Wright. Well first you could probably argue that Chris Harris was inactive last week to look -- to make jokes here. I know what was interesting and both guys told me that they did something this week and get out. Position groups will watch film obviously together. Major Wright told me that He and Chris actually went together to watch film. Quizzed each other. And totally true what they saw when they're watching film so they they really worked together to two of them during a little extra work. To really get in sync with with how -- thought what they were you seeing so -- they went above and beyond just going through the usual motions with the the the position group meeting and and really kind of worked out their own little -- back there. -- -- the offensive line in the big game plan offensively. Obviously it's the start with a run play action Max protection. Who is responsible for that was Mike Tyson as I've been surprising -- wasn't you like Mike Martz another of infamy. Well we always have -- Mike Tice got to have Mike Martz up against the -- so we're gonna -- -- -- this week. I think it was if you notice they came out and they ran right at or they direct a lot of plays right end Jared Allen. Even screened on the on the second series I believe was right over him. They swept left they ran inside of him. With jamarcus what -- if they didn't just they didn't nearly chipped it they used a little bit at tight end and so forth. With one of the keys for him was to block him is that He didn't have any help so He really so I've really tried to stay squarely in front of him rather than say one but I guess helped my laps achieved little bit. They didn't He tried not to give Allen any openings. You know obviously -- give this guy over and there was one sack which could argue it was almost a coverage sack a recovered let the ball that little bit slow but you know there was there was. I I think. That's the way they handled it was just get back to your basics don't try you just don't jump off sides don't fall start. And I think last good job lance Louis and Brian Robison was kind of the same thing stay squarely in front of him lets not count on will will get help but let's start relying on the field. Who died just wanna get the feeling in the locker room you know the guys just played with so much confidence. In conviction today they knew the game plan the ball was going to be out quick they were gonna run the football they were gonna run play action. And it really backs up that confidence of them knowing that and what it was what was displayed on the field what was just the general feeling. In the locker room because it was consistent throughout the through the whole ball game. -- and that's really a great point of observing tiger talked to a couple different players and this is almost surprising as an admission or just a statement about the mood. Guys on both sides of the Boston we really came out and and we played not played harder but do you play with more energy. More urgency and right from the get go and and why that would be one week vs another you guys can probably -- as well -- is the NFL it's a pro game the other guys get paid all that sort of thing. But on both sides of the game there was any more urgency to get something done right away. The defense of line felt like let's get here this good after McNabb right -- let's not let these guys get rolling. A whole different feel for what they had last Monday in Detroit -- who will elect him meant just as much and they said you know I don't know man but it just. We just came out and decide to get after -- so they really feel like you might have discovered something here too which. Is the emotional edge and again were a lot of physical injuries and sometimes emotional and makes a difference. Who talked about the Dolphins having that confidence really didn't going quickly put from a defensive standpoint they were really poor last week. How does that really help the psyche particularly the core players on that defense and how important was it to put them play the way they did tonight. It -- I think it was critical. Cubs Stephen hi coming in having a game like that from a rookie was tremendous. Julius Peppers -- kind of doing the Willis -- may be here do they -- they all put who's gonna play all week but you know still also the guy gets stressed on Sunday you're just Sunday night. You know are really sure yet the emotion. Coming up quickly establishing something getting that many sacks of Donovan McNabb pagan it will continue to dismiss. The Vikings and how good are they are they are there's there's still Steve Hutchinson they're Bristol dominant Adrian Peterson. It was very important for the psyche. Again it's -- and come out with a lot of emotion it's another keep playing well and keep that emotion about them and they did which the guys who really enthusiastic about it again. Page -- days out of the blocker catch that thirteen yard touchdown but what He was the first option on that play was it. But He wasn't the first option of his actions which was the front side but He said as soon as He saw the situation. It has got to lefties again so I've learned about. He said I turned around early because He has a win not only does He. He's gonna make a quick read and a decision but He said and in that ball gets on -- awful fast. So if you notice He comes out of his break and He turns around right away and churn up the ball's coming out term. So He recognized what I think is amazingly. The other -- of a young guy. Coming in and and recognizing the developing situation in a red zone situations like that. So yeah He was not the primary but He also understood that things are gonna happen a lot faster and sure enough He and Jay Cutler once again soon be on a real same page here. And quickly Stephen pie had his first NFL game He comes up with a -- as safety the first on the Vikings have surrendered one saves. 1975. You spoke to them just a short time ago. Yes Steve is hilarious action. And I think the Vikings have no one to blame but themselves for tonight. Stephen Damascus -- did you look at what really got to read if it's recently no ma'am my favorite. Player is John Randle. -- great hall of Famer. And He almost reach over to get this computer city I've watched film on him I didn't that is highlights on my computer started to go over get the computer to show me the the highlights if He watches. I asked him if he's gonna pay his face up like that -- -- so I'll think about it probably not. So it is role models none other than John Randall which again the Vikings on the results of one of us.
