Greatest Athlete Ever?
Transcript
I think if you talk about the greatest athletes of all time my list would have. Ali Jordan and Babe Ruth at the top of the list Gretzky numbers are off the chart Jim Brown did. Lacrosse star as well as a football Jackie Robinson was another college phenomenal at all on track and we. Tried to pair the -- yeah down and we had him in that discussion. I still think -- number one I. Think it's Jordan I really think it's Michael Jordan you look at what he would most scoring titles ever in the NBA all defensive team nine times highest scoring average in the history again -- playoffs. And in the regular season and he never lost the playoff series in his -- to do and then you look what Jordan could do there for a whole question of real ball before right. He could pass well he's great court vision he could score whenever you can because so. The post he could rebound I mean the guy never lost on like all the other guys you mentioned -- a playoff series -- they never lost surely are dead. You look over and Orlando whoever is favored then -- -- and never had -- -- also. Any player don't know any series he was -- in newspaper near Orlando series no Arlen go home court has come -- Orlando Orlando home court now want. They did to win any you know what is -- -- -- -- just slime the Bulls are favoured I would highly doubt that the would you vote. How he's got to be up I think I'd go. Yeah you know -- -- brown one to either way I don't think you can go wrong there. Just because. I think Jim Brown was a multi sport star it was a great lacrosse player was a great -- Babe -- he pitched and hit the -- the same sport. Almost two different things than the other problem I am Babe -- is he played during a segregated era and you can make a KL I am sure a lot of people to make a case that. Josh Gibson was probably better than Babe Ruth and we've heard a lot of those arguments for the great Negro League players who never got a chance. Who may have been greater than you know the the white players sense that I have a hard time of Babe Ruth. How -- I think inherent to the argument is is elevating your sport -- just -- just putting your entire game on a different plane and I think Jordan. More than maybe anybody and no magic and -- were right there before him but I mean let's face I think Jordan takes the NBA to completely throw line you know you. Another week another making progress along those lines so that Wayne Gretzky. With solely responsible for the NHL being a thirty team league now instead of an eighteen team league and his numbers are sick his numbers are unbelievable -- but he is responsible for hockey in Phoenix in Florida for good or bad you know you can make the argument that that's -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- the NHL and there's -- -- and one excuse -- they -- okay -- -- a little -- short -- -- kind of not matters nor does it -- to get beat up -- -- -- resolution numbers are not even if they're going to close they're absurd. They're upset. First -- -- you look at the beating that Jordan took on a night in night out -- you look at -- we -- this -- skate around Wayne -- protect them and he was easy -- -- to put up those numbers and that you're in the NHL there was -- Michael Jordan -- Chuck -- devised a system that -- -- Michael Jordan -- the way he was gonna hit the -- -- a lot of other people do that some -- career. I look at Ali and do you would you at least agree that he is the most compelling. Influential sports figure. Of our lifetime I think he talked to a lot of young athletes they would probably -- -- -- mean even guys who our history at a college right now look at the sort of what he stood for what it represented a and -- that there's a war once -- all of you you know I don't know question Ryan and -- if something -- As the years have gone awry in our marketing or whatnot -- athletes have shied away from that kind of exposure because it hurts them. From -- that no question.
