Chicagoland Speedway's Scott Paddock joins CTL to discuss Danica Patrick's impact on NASCAR in Chicago and reflect on Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s win last weekend - 6/21
We just heard Danica talk about loving Chicago Texas a live. Far from here to what Illinois native she loves driving your -- she really doesn't Morgan have been very fortunate to welcome her three times today so we had a great. Events celebrating the first official day of summer first full day of summer. And what better way to play hooky then have a beach party on oak street beach so we had a lot of fun we Danica -- -- how's junior and I just an -- and we were announcing. Our new branding until the new logo that really bring Chicago to Chicago land speedway. With that iconic -- skyline of Chicago. And announcing the celebration of two summer weekends of racing this year so Scott is Danica kind of like notre dame of racing -- -- has a lot of love and a lot of dislike is that it was she admitted today that she is a polarizing figure in the sport becoming part of it is just. She's she's tough you know she's a tough -- she's got a you know a horse racing style to -- and -- but you have to appreciate what she's accomplished I mean this isn't. A female playing against the men from the red tees the forward she's in the she's competing with them. You know straight up we know competitive advantage whatsoever. And you know she's holding her -- she's had some ups and downs this season but she can finish in the top ten in the nationwide season. Series and get the same time she's looking for to get her ready for spring -- season -- to be successful year. -- -- Are you -- she's racing twice here this year three times twice in the Nationwide Series and then we are one ten Sprint Cup events she's going to be a performance -- three times this year how much how many IndyCar. Race this year she's done this year out here full -- transition over to stock car racing this year who would you be shocked if shorts recoveries this year. I would I probably would be I think if she can win in the Nationwide Series that would be a great feather in her cap. Give a little legitimacy to the season she's having. And then that's cricket series it's just about. You know more about getting seat time in making sure she's finishing the races to benefit from the experience and so yeah.
