Welcome in Blackhawks analyst at eight all checked and -- -- so. The first off thank you for take your time this -- -- scheduled today you're really got to pepper your reaction is Zach Parise. Looking that may be a deal could be Pittsburgh we're hearing could be Detroit could be Chicago what's your take on him. Well he's one of the previous two way forward in the entire National Hockey League and at the -- what 2627. Whatever that is. Somebody had to get themselves to complete hockey player a guy that can play in every situation what do mean by that tapper. Gonna play in the top. 45 forwards. Depending -- where he goes. You know -- a power play you gonna kill penalties. You're -- be out there at the end of the game and this guy is the complete package he's not overly big. But he certainly plays big and coaches know exactly in these guys know it very well that there's no greater comfort her coach. When that door opens up or somebody comes out of the dugout -- you put somebody in on the court but on the field you know exactly what you're gonna get in. You know exactly what you're gonna get from a guy like factories they're so. Whoever gets the -- at a Grand Slam I mean this this guy is the real deal and a leader is well both on and off the ice so large it would be really addressing the -- he has plenty of options and his contract going to be. Probably an -- that's if he goes very you know an eight to ten year deal I mean you're probably looking close to honor him. That is David you know you did a great job last month com's -- cup finals and I think you mean you see what the kings were able to do as an -- -- he saw the way. That series went against the -- I just wondered when you look at that series in the context of the cup champion what do you think the Blackhawks. Need to do either through free agency or the trade market to close that gap. Look -- it nicely with and yeah I think the biggest thing I sock from the LA kings was lose their strength at the so nice position. Their size and they got consistent goaltending from Jonathan Quick but it looks like you're the eighth seed it's it's obviously start every series on the road and people may not realize -- But they started every series on the role -- from all want all the -- hysterical final. And they were up three enough and it every single series let me talk about playing with the leader being not to strike out a batter before you know you get into that you didn't get into the account eight -- just an amazing run but I mean if you look at all the Blackhawks. -- know all you can go on as of this success that they had three seasons ago -- you look at the size and you look at the straight at the center -- position and the consistency they got goal. I can media whoever they knew it was pretty glaring as far as LA was concerned David -- that they they had. You know they had a plan and they went ahead and and they made some gutsy move over. Course of the last summer. Bring in a guy like Mike Richards the former captain tell us your flyers and and made -- -- -- bring -- Jeff -- another offensive guy so they got. Much offensive -- and the one thing I mean they were offensively challenged pretty much all season long but -- brought in medical school work. -- seemed to catch fire and incompetent just went up and down that lineup so I think the biggest thing is just their side of the club. He's solid and forward into the Blackhawks played against -- off the top then I don't think the Blackhawks beat the only Q last year. In the four game that they played -- think they're actually -- a couple games so I think size and strength in the middle. There's probably you know that the biggest difference between the two clubs beside the goaltender. Any -- -- already expressed interest in Brodeur everybody knows that but how important is it that they haven't upgraded that position. Well has sent this -- before. That you know let let's remember like Corey Crawford that. This upcoming season is only going to be its second season. As a starting goaltender of National Hockey League you remember prior to last year he was not the starter Marty Turco look -- starter. Corey Crawford stepped -- after christmastime and became the number one goaltender so we really had limited. -- -- -- it's -- time at the starting position at the highest level there is for the game of hockey so I think there's also -- to Grohl I think Corey certainly have to improve. He has to be more consistent I think he has to be able to think that followed one looks at. Come the starting season. But goaltending if you don't have it you're not gonna win in the National Hockey League and you saw how close this series was between Hawks -- the Coyotes -- but first five games -- every single game all the time. You just can't give up the soft goals because it's just forget overtime marry you know what's gonna happen to -- give up the bag all the overtime. But under stocky more this soft goals over the course of high 8198899%. Of the time and yet you're gonna give up some bad goal at the position should -- -- Other relief guy a closer in baseball you're gonna -- blow ups and it's gonna happen. Let them make those spectacular saves when you can't without the need is more consistency from a young guy that hasn't played. You know -- that number opposition. A lot the National Hockey League yet so there's human -- I think the jury's still awfully mature that -- -- -- -- the last couple foray we appreciate taken time. If I told you Hawks could only add one big time player whether it's breezy Ryan suitor -- dole whoever it is out there. What one player would you say are not take that guy. It's. Well know in the later in the constructed. Then the strengths and everybody being healthy. I would have to go to the back can't I think I think adding another defenseman to me would be imperative knowing you tell me airing of the way the cards are laid out cap related it is. For as much as I loved factories that. In knowing that Blackhawk team looked well they do I have to go to the bat and thought I would have to say Ryan Suter. All right last one. Today the NHL announces that rock beat cars the suspension was cut down to 21 games is eight left to serve this year are you surprised by it. -- initially wanted to happen capitalize attend into an off the bat because they knew the history of the player. In and that could. Hockey season that calendar -- and getting air fine on December 30. Per inning at Colorado Avalanche player and then the next night their lead in the seat and in danger -- -- and the Minnesota Wild get -- The two games so I attended turn out that that I was I was shocked that it was. That many games. There's an appeal process and and then obviously he went through that and I thought it was a little harsh. But one here a repeat offender and you have. A track record I think they'll be certainly lose trying to set a set a tone and I think that big hit that good. -- -- -- At the end of the day yeah hopefully the player -- send next time if -- the next time I would expect it to be -- fifty plus games if he decides to -- its feet and go after somebody about social.
