White Sox general manager Kenny Williams wouldn't deny rumors of his interest in Milwaukee's Zack Greinke, but can he get him? The CTL panel debates - 7/25
-- chuck are -- caught up with GM Kenny Williams yesterday the brought up the name's Zack Greinke. And Ryan Dempster -- Kenny others inquired about both pitchers here is what Kenny said. He wouldn't be office like Kevin I can't I can't deny any rumors you have heard me deny any rumors unless it's something that I feel is this. This is going to. Take away the focus of one of our guys -- -- -- -- come out and I may say no. So and so -- -- we're not looking down that road. It doesn't let -- go after -- Yeah. -- me like there's a lot of questions on that. -- -- -- -- Tonight so he can't really comment about guys on other teams though -- it's any secret that we would Kenny goes -- I think he -- big game hunting. One thing I love about Kenny Williams above all else. Kenny Williams is all about now we're trying to win that now he doesn't have five year plans. He's trying to go get the best guy out there I just don't know -- they have the bullets to go get a guy. Like Zack Greinke pitched well I think to do it they've got a they've got interest in Milwaukee or third team in Gavin Floyd. I know I don't think you could bring Greinke ending keep everything sacked. But I do think you know if you if you're walking why would you take a mediocre guy like Gavin Floyd. Well because you're trying to win and he signed for next year he's under control for next year I mean if you lose. Greinke and you don't have a pitcher to replace him where you know you're taken a step back but. You know I think the fact that Floyd is under control for next year. Makes them it makes him a piece you're gonna have to put something else significant with that obviously but memo to Doug Melvin if you think you're gonna win would Gavin Floyd is suppose I'm Zack Greinke -- You better start looking for a new job you got no shot -- not. Well they've tried to keep Zack Greinke. You know we saw today this morning early Cole Hamels agrees to this a 144 million dollars six year deal. With the Phillies to stay there every -- the the Brewers. Sort of like what they did with Prince Fielder sort of like what they did was CC sabathia they make good offers but they're not. Top of the line the other not New York Yankee offers are not Philadelphia Philly offers so they don't keep these guys but. You know they are still have a dialogue -- Greinke it's not have a question that he would stay there. But man that he pitched good last night --
