Jimmie Johnson four time winner now at the brickyard your thoughts. A lot on his performance and now. Dale Earnhardt junior taking over the points we have first time for Earnhardt junior take over the points lead since 2004 so. He is without question a legitimate championship contender. And he's he's no no -- been more consistent this year than Earnhardt junior Jimmie Johnson what can say he and his crew chief Chad can answer getting into championship form right now. And that's a pretty scary thought -- Nelson after the race if our guys are doing their job in the shop back home and on pit road during race day. He Jimmie Johnson is flawless and and that's a scary proposition. You saw you know. There's a lot of standard position today in the sport but you saw when a couple of additional RPMs on the horse power can do for team. They have the right chassis setup they made all the right adjustments so this team is coming into form and if they needed any motivation after five particular championships. He was to have this streak broken last year so they are ready to recapture that type of Scott we saw some headlines Monday morning about empty seats attendance issues what's the situation. -- -- I pay tribute to the fact that this sports had unprecedented growth early in in the 2000 and was probably unrealistic. To sustain that growth and this is crazy as this may sound I think you know that it's a bit of a reset right now you almost have to shrink a little to grow into your -- I think really what's gonna help this hit a lot of the Evans backing gage is. In 2013. They're gonna bring back street legal cars to NASCAR so that forward. That show that I'm Chevrolet that dodge will look like a street legal argument. They got away from that a little bit with the car of tomorrow and creating more of a standardized. Looking car and it created a bit of -- homogenized look in the avid fans were really keen on that so. They can get this will be game changing next year but still you know a 160000. Fans came upon Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. That's 33 times what a Super Bowl draw so. You know you have to remember this is still the second most watched and followed sport in America second only NFL but. You know they they had unprecedented growth -- and it's it's a good opportunity to pause and in kind of chart the course for the future now. As we took a look at the standings who we're shaping up for quite a spread and coming six weeks away to Chicago land -- let's try to chase starts in six weeks and I think you're gonna see some great racing some interest in drama you've got big names like Carl Edwards Jeff Gordon Kyle Busch on the outside looking in. I think a lot of teams are going to be thrown up some Helm areas in the next six weeks. Because you've got the they're not gonna get in on points out they're gonna get in based on wins with one of those two wild card spots. Based on who has the highest number of wins fallen between tenth tenth -- twentieth position in the points so I think you're gonna see some incredible recent coming up here. Yeah you're gonna see you know those that we're gonna be conservative and just try to move up the points then they gotta go for wins right so that that and that's what these teams are talking about now we need wins. Not just conservative race essentially the top five doesn't do Jeff Gordon any good from here on out he's got to get. Two wins in the next six races for shots you know that you sort of like -- -- are Denny Hamlin so pocono they where they're just six weeks ago the track had a re -- But -- six weeks later after a lot of hot temperatures in that region. The -- can be very slick. I'm going to be tough for the drivers very different than seeing just six weeks ago so but Denny Hamlin has -- this racetrack and I think he's going to be the guys.
