-- White Sox have had a very exciting season all year long. Right now what is the thing you're most comfortable with about this team out what concerns you most as we head toward this stretch with the Sox in first. Not a thing. Just keep playing and that's all you get yourself quite a panel today David Duke out of -- goodness star studded panel. Now the club about today it's a nice ballclub and we catch the ball better than any team in the American League and as long as you can do that. You can see all the games we've played once we lose as well they're all close games you know we're getting good pitching it. That's a first line defense but the name of the game the first rule of baseball's catch the baseball you've got to catch it and then when you do that as well as we can. In the outfield play has just been sterling. We are hitting cut off guy as we're making -- plays were keeping gas and taking. Extra bases were keeping what last year we could keep the gaffe and one forced to throw a single to left field so I mean you know take it from there. -- and it's just been fantastic. He's he's a such a steady influence he has. We can talk about all things about the player's individual accomplishment to MVPs for me have been piazza meals. On and on and on but Robin is -- key element in this whole equation. They -- -- also see you Friday in KC. Just wanna follow up on what you just said you know just all the time united observer on the back fields in Glendale Arizona and just. What you saw then as far as the guy aces repeat and repeat the fundamentals hitting the cut off man and and just how that's carried out to this point so far. Well as we talked about it Martin's praying Robin is not trying to reinvent the wheel he's not trying to reinvent the game. Again like -- Billy Beane for example -- -- factory and get to game but. Robin has just taken game 101 assist that simple he's going out there were playing basic fundamental baseball. There's nothing tricky about it you catch the ball you saw the man out you catch the ball you get it back in and get the hitter out. And that's he's that's how simple it is you know x.s and -- we have talked. In -- and I have talked about this to Texas knows and football very important x.s and I was in basketball -- X.s and knows baseball -- mean a -- thing is handling people that's all it is post. That running a baseball game is not that difficult people know wondered by people don't want to change a pitcher. The one thing about it is it is getting these guys to get in them what's -- And -- and that's what Robin is doing -- coming to the ballpark every day expecting to win a ball game. And that hasn't had happened and while. Hey hawk -- steady great to see you -- Wanted to get your take on Chris Sale -- when all that was going on in terms of their gonna move back to the pan and then he. Fought for the right to remain a starter what was your take on that and what do you see for him in these last you know 67 weeks. Well I had at say what that would the one thing that he's impressed everybody -- his his competitiveness. And Jake Peavy is gonna. Then a great influence on our young pitchers in Oregon also many young pitchers we -- Major League record using 81 game that game in Kansas City. But we were one game when we're first place so that's that's unbelievable. AJ is Donna AJ has done a great job in handling these young guys but -- has been the guy with serial. As we've walked him market now watched him work on that changeup balls playing ball down and away to the strong right hand hitters down and away down and -- all of a sudden now. When he saw that fastball if it does not 97 which he can get up to a -- you know if he has to. He's been pitching that's what I loved about Chris Sale he's been pitching anywhere and have one game that he didn't hit hit it dead arm he was pitching anywhere from 86. 89 he only had not won twice in the whole ball game. So that shows -- the pitch ability and adaptability. And ready to go out there and and take what he's got to keep his team in the ball game. And that's what makes a Major League pitcher that's what makes a good Major League pitcher if you get a had a good stuff and you get control of -- much are you not to win many games in the big leagues. But Kook in the in this coaching staff is now also from probably get two guys on the -- -- not -- be -- -- too much -- and as mark parent Joseph mcewing. There's guys can be defamation league managers. So you put all these ingredients together. And is going to the ballpark to me is you've heard me say many times the most important part of the day for a player is when he is on that drive from the house -- his apartment to the ballpark. He's getting his thoughts sorted out. And when you get that car and you dropped to the ballpark everything is good it's all good. Then you get a chance when a ball game and that's where Robin has got these guys right now. Hey hawk is Jason got -- particularly with a Robin Ventura for a second because coming in the season so many people said the White Sox weren't going to be any good numbers guys so to speak in the White Sox seem to do the little different than maybe the new school baseball people would like to have you do it. Does this just prove what they do that there's more than one way to win in the major leagues that still holds true today. Yeah just proves that you don't have to reinvent anything just go out there and get some baseball if you do that and Kenny Williams up to you Kenny. I've said this before I'll say it again Kenny Williams -- the greatest general manager in history this franchise. And if you look at what he's done he's gone out made the necessary pick ups to Philly and you know went went went down well. -- awesome -- Youkilis over there and look -- shot in the arm he gave us you know for a couple weeks and he's he's look at the couple plays he made last night he -- replays last night. Two in particular the -- probably three maybe four runs and that ball game. And when you can do things like that and Kenny is is just letting them play that's it you know he's he's just letting employee got the right man he's got the right coaching staff. And and his us and I can't say enough about the calmness and not give a good example. When we got -- and a three game set in Detroit. I rushed down as soon as we got off the the press got into the clubhouse and he was sitting there with 45 I guess we're talking. And you know what they're talking about the British Open. Cannot tell you when I when I saw that that was just that was just the deciding factor for me because he handled it just the same -- is if we had. Once we you know he would have been talking about the British Open those things in these guys know it. You know I love -- the and we all had a lot of fun with Ozzie and always will -- his family. And for five years he did a great job with us you know goddesses swing right here but -- managers have a shelf life and it was time and and for Kenny to have made this choice and he told me. He told me before that Robin -- even agreed. To take the job he said I know -- and get crucified by doing this message yes you are you going to two behind me. And he hired him he and Jerry went out that would I think -- Thursday they flew out on the Sunday and talked to Stephanie Robinson. They -- did it to manage -- ballclub and since that time has been nothing but really consistency. And every player on this club knows what their job is every player on this team knows what's going to happen in certain situations in the ball game. If you call back that great Baltimore team that they have over there with a little Weaver was all fame manager every player on the club knew. What their job was when that game started they knew what they were going to be doing. In the same thing is willing to hear rob there's no panic in him whatsoever and he can get this is no question about that he can get hot and her. That and he did it with that one umpire. That overall it was just great for these guys to have that. Especially coming off the last three years of formal well it's great for them have that peace of mind that they expect one ball game.
