This was first of all you know what I -- Tony Stewart and there's the petulant child throwing his helmet what happened. Well -- and that's what happens on these. Short tracks you know you've got 43 cars concentrated and a half a mile racing surface going at high speeds. And it's just you know which interpretation you know -- thought that he gave Tony enough room there Tony didn't think that gave him enough room -- that turned. This this is the result love and Antonio obviously wasn't too happy about it but Kansas has a reputation did very clean racers so. You know I take Jimenez word that he you know let off the gas and tried to accommodate Tony Stewart. But in many times in situations like this it goes back to what happened earlier in the race between these two in. I think Mets perspective was hey I was in a similar situation that I let off the gas to give Tony room. And his return the favor so it's really it's it's who you ask what did you see the drama and there that's fueled that strategy of let the boys have managed boys will be boys. If you do get on the Dan Ryan that's a little danger in fact I think but with. With they're out windshields and everything else I mean that's like thrown a pencil -- -- -- and having that. It it would appear it looked like to have be dangerous but I don't think it was. Did that this technology in the sported Sosa if you know Bob. You know the safer barriers that are built into the walls the Hans devices the roof flaps all of these things -- You see what looks like a pretty horrific crash we saw that would Mark Martin last week in Michigan going into the pit wall. But they typically walk away unscathed he. Because of the -- safety features I was really talking about the helmet into the hope there aren't that maybe -- -- word -- that was met -- Kansas response when he was asked about that he said hey they're the car was in bad shape anyways that they didn't do anymore damage so. Should we kind of expected from Tony -- truly supposed to give each other because. In my mind you're trying to get the advantage of trying to get ahead of this guy's not gonna run him into the wall but really how much accommodation do you need to give somebody you're trying to be yeah I -- typically depends on what stage of the race you are this late couple -- -- You know it you you got to be a little you can be aggressive and you can be forgiven for that but earlier on in the race like that did you tend to let off the gas like Matt said today. Give him room to come in and then you know you go back and -- so it just really depends on the stage of the race and if there's a history mean. There's a little bit of history between Tony and -- so it doesn't surprise me that you know we saw that on full -- also little. Picked she did -- -- knowing her defense I think -- the reason for her frustration she had a top ten finish the night before -- tenacious race. And she was on the lead lap. Well past the midway point that this would have been hurt by far her best finish in the Sprint Cup Series -- to be taken out like that she was clearly disappointed and that. You know she's had a lot of crashes this year but this one you can argue wasn't her fault -- had to write your little -- itself and interest and we heard Tony Stewart are teammates and and they sound like they come from the same school of thought. You know -- historical. Hey Scott we're we're about a month out now from -- event and as you know we had a course superintendent on the side. On now month out from the Ryder Cup would be talking about what are you doing to get the greens are ready what's going on at the course. What we are -- what does go water at your track what he had to do and you know at this. This step out well that and it's it's amazing -- when you think about what goes in to prepare a facility like cars for an event like this I mean this is. The one time a year than their stock car drivers in the world descend upon our marketplace. You know we'll have tens of thousands of fans it's the largest spectator sporting event annually each year in the state of Illinois so. The track cryptic goes into it -- getting you know those fulfilling the sponsor benefits all of you know we'll we'll have the literally a thousand. Vince staff on site taking place that weekend helping put the event on. Everything from ushers to 88 transport all -- -- you you're -- all that up it's amazing what goes into getting a facility race ready for a major event weekend like this. Let's take a look at this week's race were in Atlanta yes. Atlanta one of the fastest tracks on the circuit it's old but its -- doesn't have a lot of grip so you'll see high -- a lot of sliding going around. The drivers often referred wood is one of the toughest courses to navigate on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit so. And if were ready for picks this week I'm gonna go we Jeff Gordon so we talked last week camp about how these drivers are. Thrown up some hail -- that are out on the outside looking in we saw that last week. Jointly Ghana took pit strategy gamble Carl Edwards took a fuel mileage gamble didn't pay off when you see a lot of these guys now. Really gambling forgiveness -- are from a 140 a lot of fun though I'm 41 so I've got some ground if you are -- -- Jeff Gordon. You've raced one of those races of his life he was definitely trying to win last weekend at a number three finish great great just. He's -- perform well in Atlanta over the years and I just think he's on a mission right now. She's got two races ago he has to win one of the few occasions throughout our coach Brad -- Is that it couldn't hear it seems that everywhere he has been quick. Quick -- He stepped up there I hope he does give you better like -- in the last week since he was much themselves that they have in place of work with our fingers for the contract things are great -- -- confirmed he's gonna do some pre race hospitality along with Danica Dale Earnhardt junior. That's what she's about the sport axis of the fans it's a driver's literally hours before the race it's unique in that regard and of course with Brian's going to be performer Chris concert -- -- how has been doing a country music so -- good things going on.
