Well if anyone doubted Brad Kozlowski is when you know bid for a championship. Don't doubt it anymore he's proven he's for real. And what he's showing everyone is he is becoming a master of fuel mileage races and that's what this isn't over what I mean by that is there's more green flag racing fewer cautions so. You really have to you're going to be out on the track longer you have to find ways to conserve fuel. And he credited the Penske engine shop we're doing so because typically. You either pursue horse power or you pursue fuel mileage it's hard to pursue both won without sacrificing other. They found a way to do that and he's been -- conserving fuel and he was able to stay out on the lap and so and Jimmie Johnson conversely. Really admits he's not a good fuel mileage race or it's one of his few weaknesses and so we're seeing how that's what opinion that playing out over these first four chase races prior. I got a proposal for. How many drivers make the chase twelve correct why not have its twelfth in every other sport when you make the playoffs. The other teams go home the Cubs are golfing Thursday morning. Don't get to keep playing then. Why not just at those twelve -- how cool that would be you know it's it's an interesting concept but personally what I find so unique about this chase format is just the opposite it's. Unlike any other sport where in the playoffs you're in or you go home here you're in those twelve over the ones that are fortunate enough to compete now for Sprint Cup championship. But the same time you've got the rest of the pack it's still competing to win that individual race which is prestigious in its own right so. And honestly I think I think you need forty plus cars out on the track to create that drama to create -- story lines. In Talladega you know 43 cars is gonna make for an interesting story line vs twelve out there but. I'll take that suggestion that it back to NASCAR -- -- to go for it to friends and argument. You talk a little bit about the dangers with that course can you talk with about that. You know what makes it through Q it was. It's a true wild card race and what I mean by that is one small mishap on with 43 cars going in excess of 200 miles an hour on a two and a half. Mile oval. One mishap whether -- -- cut tire missed communication and mental error blown engine and it will take out twelve to fifteen cars easily so. You know this school of thought right now is if you are in the top six of the points 32 points out. You still have a chance at that Sprint Cup if you seventh or worse Dale Earnhardt junior Jeff Gordon. It's going to be tough but this is that we can you can make up a lot of ground because considered -- that in this race last fall intact Talladega. Three chase drivers finished in the top ten. The rest of the chase drivers finished 25 or worse so you can make up a lot of ground this is that we can do it what is happened Dale Earnhardt junior. You know -- that's a great question he was the most consistent driver all season long and into the chase. But you know he hasn't been finishing terribly but you know twelfth place finish for thirteenth place finish that's not gonna get you competing for that Sprint Cup title so. I think fuel mileage is part of that he's not necessarily agree fuel mileage driver like Tony Stewart is so I think that's working against them but. So much of this is who gets hot at the right time and Brad Kozlowski and Paul -- crew chief. Have just really. Same page and they're also in the case of his name was dale McClure -- Would anybody care about him as a driver just about Africa because -- dad is Dale Earnhardt senior. Is that the only reason he gets all this love from sponsors and fans because he's dale Smith. He's just another drivers up the track. No question about it that the -- lineage the genealogy is playing a big role here in. And NASCAR has a lot of history of this -- when when you talk about the -- the Wallace's etc. So on that that's the question about but I think part of it too was the brand image that he can lead early on. Young guy single guy. In the rock and roll you know lived a little bit on the wild side and the fans really gravitated -- that he's certainly calmed down a bit and he was a gunslinger he was a guy that was. Go for broke now I think he's learned how to be smarter on the racetrack. You know conservative when he needs to and that's why he's positioned himself well this year in other words he was young camp. He was in my. Let's make our picks at Talladega you get to golfers on the regular Brad Kozlowski he is. Hot right now and he's had a history of success at Talladega. And fuel mileage could come into play this track and he certainly shown he can add to that but I am going Jeff Gordon you've been running. Well -- late night take him months. -- Jeff Gordon you have to -- to finishes the last two races heading back them off to that she can start at Chicago and speedway three weeks ago. He'd be well positioned but this is racing to make up some ground.
