We got Jack McCarthy Scott that we see every week the president speedway Ed Jeff Burton I call you did hear them there. Whatever you want a -- shows so you have -- -- Coming to Chicago race in a setting like this what does that. That's a great facility to -- the facility it's a great sports town. You know it's good to come here and and building environment from the you know this is an awesome sports -- enthusiasm and those last -- he goes is probably mostly who wondered if they. To be in this area really means a lot of NASCAR. And again come on a racetrack it's so nice and had a really nice job you're making sure they get fans in -- out -- a good experience as a thing about a racist more than just the race it's like -- and of this cycle of those circuits and is a lot of stuff going -- before the race. After the race is a real -- of -- You know he's right guys I think bounty on him is like the Kentucky Derby it's the one time we hear -- what we expected or maybe if united at the horse racing fan. You wanna come out you got the magic in the spectacle that is the Kentucky Derby that's like when the Sprint Cup Series comes into town it's if you want to be the best stock car drivers nobody in this market. And we're lucky to have the start of the playoffs. So you and your your sponsor Caterpillar's needs to Peoria and that little extra pressure on you just about -- -- The pressure with pressure you don't have a sponsor here that's that's pressure so room we're blessed to have you know a lot of a lot of sort of Americans bases. Nogueira is well so it gives you the chance of those guys to come out. The racetrack and that's the thing which -- well. They definitely aren't exactly. I abilities of us soccer trivia Warriors. They're been thirteen majors. Soccer event to Chicago area. Let them out here. When it's benefit speedway and another one at Soldier Field. In 1956. -- got me into the half mile track went up court out of -- one by. Apparently named Fireball Roberts what a great game. Few bucks. -- us -- good again I think I. I think in a quarter mile race on Thursday night oval this race and then antennae we pack the place to be great excitement. Do you get your start in it because baseball players play Little League pop Warner football. You -- him. He did the same thing -- started seven years notice go carts and it's just not as widely known as you know -- wonderful example. But there's there's racing -- all of the -- you must've thought Mason crime. And so there's still the opportunity to potentially now for young people race I started racing go carts. I did really well there thanking you had to be sixty before he could -- stock market they compete well and was not going so. Things have changed a lot that. But you know I would go -- late -- of a local that went to what is now the Nationwide Series in new -- is a long journey these guys today they go quicker than I did. Jeff this is the first of five. Mile and a half tracks that the chase drivers are gonna things you've been racing here since inaugural year 2001. The track surface and how we teach it what's it like with the character is whether the fun thing about this racetrack it's more than one -- so you've got you've got this. Thought he got the bottom you'll see people running really well right against the white I'll on the wall. You'll see people running really well right on the bottom of the racetrack. And you'll see people run to help build a racetrack so that gives drivers a chance to go to different places. Makes restarts crazy. It's just a fun racetrack it's rough which is a good thing there's an extended period it would it. Listen this part of country if that's not rest on the wrong no -- -- the weather changes appears so. Yeah I. It has a lot of character to it is not so much grit to you -- in the gas all the time you have to manipulate the -- you have to manage your tires. -- that's a really good thing with a lot of character -- this racetrack just to hit more than 900 NASCAR starts. If solid numbers correctly. It's been the most memorable to you to some standout. Well you know that's a tough question I I. Unite. I try really hard to think about the future not so much about the past that -- win in my first race. You know it taxes that was inaugural that Texas win that race. Have a chance that the race that Kansas work a couple of my wins passing with outlasts. Grace and unbeknownst to -- to go in the other than as a real memorable presents -- much respect -- I it's really hard to pick I hope I hope my most memorable event is in the future I mean that's you know that's kind of my mindset is to. You know I think on my since he said it was you did in the past of really big tee what you had done enough you know you're not working ordered into the future so. You know who worked really hard to focus more what we're gonna do rather than what we have done how much longer do you see yourself as a driver. -- -- -- -- I don't know I love what I do and you know we haven't had a big year this year it's been you know when you're deciding not had a good year people say well -- -- old. The fact of the matter is. Where I'm I'm blessed joined the sport on the end you'll have to be young you know you look mark Martin's a great example I think Dale Earnhardt. You know he finished second in the points I think he was six years old you know right in that area so. You know I do neat though not running well has nothing to do my age it's it's it's it's more I think that's more of a mindset at least if you wanna do it. And you you stay focused and you -- -- and you willing to not do things so you can't do this easily can be good at this. That you should still be here at the minute I wake up and I don't wanna go testing I wanted to genome I don't do those things that I could go into. -- our guys -- hopes for 4050 year old so that's. About the playoff system because it's different now with the chase that starts here Chicago the old days it wasn't like if you like I think the playoffs -- Maria please be good for our sport and the reason lies because. The regular season still means something you know you there's so few people if you look at if you look at NASCAR the number of the percentage of teams get into the playoffs vs. Basketball football baseball the percentage is actually smaller. So it's hard to get in the playoffs and regular season means something. Winning races means something to succeed you hire if you win races. And the rays Upton who's gonna make the case but that part of -- exciting and we start all over it so now -- into the chase. I don't I don't have a favored me when -- look at it you know I just don't move. It is open to me is football is right now and went on to that the NFL in the first week didn't -- the second week I have no idea that the best team. Still the same way about these cookies that get -- to go and like you said. I don't know who the favorite if I think that's a real compelling thing to watch. Who's going to emerge as the guy that's gone into. You think about rivalries you guys to talk about between the drivers where you walk him back there by the Iraqis ego that I have any idea what that guys like -- -- the it would have been. Other guys are close to well it's it's just like it was you know we're -- unity is like any community if people feel like if you don't like if you would make you an adequate than other people. And to -- the next horizon there's. I'm I'm really -- -- and some people you know the people just don't like at all you know and it's just your personality definitely.
