In the first part of his induction speech into the US Hockey Hall of Fame, Eddie Olczyk gets introduced, talks about playing with Mike Modano, the 1984 US Olympic team and the first few seasons of his career with the Blackhawks - 10/15

Mr. Eddie -- check. Thank you very much. Think you can gradually mr. chase mr. Patrick and mr. Costello. Allowing us to be a part of your special night in a word. -- Lot of games together for team USA. Lot of -- -- together. When I was drinking Diet Pepsi. But the greatest American born score ever to play in a National Hockey League. I call my friend. You know you -- somebody's respect and trust. When you get a phone call from somebody. He wants an opinion. A quality I thought. Would be like for him. To go back home to Detroit players in Detroit Red Wings. When you've earned the respect of -- Mike Modano. You've truly arrived. -- I can be more proud to go with him -- the whole thing congratulations. Mr. glamour all as you mentioned. Way back in. June of 1983. I was all of sixteen years of age. You're they're giving up your time for USA hockey. Being one of the coaches. To help select. The Olympic team that had a distinct privilege. And very difficult task to try to follow in 1980. Olympic miracle on ice. But mr. glamour all the coach of the east team. All the youngest guys around that team. We struck up a relationship. That was built on trust and respect. In all the success that he is done. For College Hockey. For USA hockey. For the National Hockey League. In -- particular. For the New Jersey doubles. But going -- five Stanley cups. Since 1995. And winning three of those. Any time I've had the opportunity. Weather was is a player. Is a broadcaster. Or is a member of USA hockey. Mr. glamour love but would always. Have the time. To sail off. He would always have the time. When I would go up to his office. To break away from a meeting. Breakaway from a phone call. To come out and say alone in -- ranked. He's always at the -- And what makes him so special to me and my family. Then he's always. Ask me how my mom and dad where. And tonight. He is able to see my mom and dad for the first time in a long long time and still Amarillo I couldn't be more proud. Congratulations. I've been lucky announce to play on a lot of lines in my National Hockey League career. To see patty LaFontaine. David A Jensen on a diaper line. I was on that line to slow it down a little bit. No doubt about it. And play on a line. With the Chicago Blackhawks my first couple years there. Was coined by MIA. Now partner working for the Chicago Blackhawks -- pat Foley he called us the Clyde stale it's. The great primary. And our toughness. Now an assistant coach with your Dallas star's curt Frasier. Went back in the day transfer some of our younger hockey fans out there at the -- -- were fast. Back in 1984. And platelet moto and JR on line team USA. And with -- all. And my buddy ripped off. That's spread policy didn't understand that the locker room language there. And not a respect factor -- I think had a few more years in the league when we played on TV USA and you're wearing number sixteen and I was our number twelve.
