Bears PGL breakdown: Defense dominates; Cutler tough

Time now for our opening kickoff and as always our -- There's beverage jags will lead us off of his stuff. Well my first thought is that's how you play defense I mean when you watch this defense performed tonight. It was beautiful to watch them you -- first of -- the really smother the -- offense in the first left. When you look back you start end of the numbers from the first that you look at third down conversions for the ones who were not you look at what was -- mega Tron. I -- the power went out in the first half and you look at what -- staff was able to accomplish even when he went to the run game. Not a whole heck of -- a lot McAllister had a couple nice long runs okay -- still on the punt the football a lot of three and outs. Defense outstanding providing outstanding field position as well for the Dolphins in this war. Yeah for me for the Bears it is about the defense and they were outstanding tonight. And then again you look at how they took the game over. In my opinion in the second half and you know his time there there was a -- Jay Cutler went down they had a few wasted series here. Offensively but then they got the momentum going in the defense -- -- Thomas so don't worry won't take it over and we're gonna put it to bed and they absolutely did that the second half. I agree there is just remarkable up there in the the last two guys remaining from my rookie class Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs. Both of them in their tenth season I really think points and the best football of their careers. Lance especially tonight all over the field -- with a really tough match up guarding one of vis a -- receivers in the game. Total shut down job. I really don't think yeah I think I think Calvin had maybe one catch there until -- in the fourth quarter million right there and make sort of picking up some yards and garbage situations. Great job of the defense across the board consistent pressure got the job done. We've -- millions of Jacob was my guys. Yeah. And we're getting here from not from Jay color we'll hear his post game press conference as well as from Lovie Smith the head coach who will be up first will bring those. Press conferences to you -- talk a little bit more about the takeaways because the amazing thing was is they -- fumbles in the first half they can get the lot of them. But you know everyone's been talking about for weeks on -- with the way they've been scoring. Off the turnovers but they were even creating some fumbles early on there are just balls that went out of bounds -- These guys heard me talking about earlier Charles Tillman has a patent on the ball punch I don't know how he does it. I did all the moving parts you saw what happened there in the red zone you saw what happened on two consecutive plays where the ball happens to just go right out of bounds but. It's really just remarkable visibility didn't zone blitz and it's little silence -- -- is is pretty embarrassed. When we're now asking peanut Tillman. The punch it out and play the -- -- out of -- can you directional punts the ball I mean that's how good he is as a football player and just got to back up -- manages about Jay Cutler being a guy when he came out with those white shoes on. I was taking me back to seems like cold side of the Robin Williams. -- -- Kurt Russell in that movie having a kid that -- ladies out there it was a beautiful he's my guy dude are you familiar girls still like to dress code. To be. It has been tough race to be ended up let's talk about the -- other injury that we had discussed and you know it is an injury didn't end up knocking him out of the game. But to us and I'm sure everyone watching at home there was definitely some discomfort there with the week he went down who. And Ndamukong -- torched them for that ball and there was it was cleaned it. But that's nothing gets her mother doesn't concern tonight he played fairly clean and play hard -- you know JJ when you get that situation it's who's Jason. Possible if he wants the ball like you throw the football away and. While I was worried I told -- in the green room you worry about that because it did look like a shoulder injury has looked pretty significant we've seen Drew Brees dislocated shoulder -- that same. Exact hit them. You do you have to learn how to faulted for that you like to fall on your chest -- on your -- he was enough. Very compromising position so I think for Bears fans to see him get back in the game after a series didn't feel right he probably still won't feel right. For a little while the thousand Kurds seem to see him finish a game that could have been significant injury content. -- absolutely all -- look right it's the -- are talking about defined and better and it carried over English are you doing. Tell you they kind of continue even had some wardrobe trips -- for Jim to into in. In terms of you know ways to stay away from that injury because I think the first Scott Dixon made was by -- that -- He had only needed I used to cut the sleeves you know I'm not trying to be tough guy who lost their and its cold but -- time DC Tom Brady. Those guys who cut their sleeves because that's was the initial pull. I mean his sleeves down at the bottom they they're not as tight as what they are at the Colorado comment you try to show the guy is a -- guys the part I have these guns registered state Illinois -- let everybody understand that but it's the one thing you can avoid if you got a cannon and shoot -- yeah right. Yeah this one thing about the -- I was kind of surprised personally. Dutrow was having some success running the ball the very into the number two or number one defense against the rush. I'm surprised they didn't stick with -- that a little bit more the way he wants especially -- Burleson went down. They weren't getting anything going on their passing game and -- repeated again new against me. To trust them to me and I certainly want good dinner and in hundred. Really expand on this because I felt coming in the game that's what Detroit does they go three wide as they major in three wide receivers 90% of time. They line up in that grouping what does it do force's Nick -- out defense of that comes in DJ Moore so they're nickel what does that do -- the Bears play at Tampa two. It's now six in the box you got your forty cents a line and plus Lance Briggs and Urlacher in invite you as an offense to run the football against that group B maybe talk about how difficult that is to defend. Especially after -- gruden corner out about fifteen times the depth of the safeties. And and so not only are they in cover two but they're revealing that they're in cover two. A lot of times you see a safety roll down -- roll back late in terms of disguising what they're doing. We're both safeties are 171819. Yards. You kind of showing your hand you know exactly what you're doing. That makes it all the more difficult as a defense too consistently stop the run where you're basically gap short on defense there's more blockers than our defenders in the box. Credit the line backers credit the. You have -- so from an -- until -- standpoint. When things that you see when that happens is if that defensive line penetrates they blow plays up. All of -- sudden what you have designed and drawn up on paper when you reach you know you block this guy this way. Also my guys across a lot of scrimmage in in the gap. It makes it really tough then to go back which original blocking scheme was nationals --
