We welcome Dave -- and Carlos Boozer Chicago Tribune not taking guys for being here how excited are you that the season is back off who prefer we can reduce part of a couple more minutes. How about for you being a new bowl and the chance. You got a real chance here to make a major impact on this thing. And this and grab a certain you know that is good so I just think golf Robinson is. Carlos we're in the midst of their season and they are you know where they are. Because their defense is playing lights out with a bunch of guys who were in the thirties. A bunch of guys to block you said begin the season and what that team is too old and to do to do what they're doing. For the black guys in their thirties lot of guys who may be that same thing what's the what's the secret if there is one about staying. -- top shape the top level and how much of what people say about your age is used as motivation. Are you defuse a motivational -- there and there's nothing cares about me. I'm a good thing about being older you've been through a lot of different things in your career injuries and recover and what have you. You very much -- had to take care reversal. I thank god for the Bears guys that if I think everybody's playing great defense if us. We have veterans have been around the block a little bit not take care of ourselves a little bit so. Calls us in this post game last night there's a little bit of a misnomer about -- joke team co exist in -- offensively and you know from people watching games. There are low ability to connect seems like it's pretty problem so far -- -- and can you talk about your comfort level playing with the team. You mean drew came guy great -- comfort level series aquarius passer great finisher. I'm doing things I would prefer to -- -- -- like Houston fighters want our posts -- joking Duncan then I thought from every time it is the same thing for me and I'm a good thing is the more we play we have a better we've gotten with each other over the years well. We know if I was in this in -- -- our -- here as far as our camera -- another and continue to remember. You you're also talking -- -- of course -- about you know the approach you have to take offense we would -- out for as long as he's out I mean usually when you do like you bailout guy right. What's going to be the best way to approach the season's yeah we're looking around for long as it is. -- -- really -- -- zero so we have to do we do collectively you know -- usually it was 56 seconds left on the shot quite -- find heroes have to make some spectacular happen. There right now we do -- the people rules we do in the flatter nationals couldn't pass pass the cut. I'm good -- as we use each other and we do collectively you know sometimes in my view and now career in my view isolation my typical me. Whatever might be in my view don't consider -- times we use each other -- are always scored the shot clock went down and I'm not so -- -- to do for the first half of the season. Was trying to you know find different ways to use each other on the scoreboard at 10 o'clock in the quarters and against. Nate you played at Boston for a little bit I think Tom was there ready couple months before. He got he got the Bulls job what do you remember about him as an assistant compared to how he is now for you as a head coach. Because we know he's great for it was a saying. That's a huge is imminent -- and so. It's the same time you know you know it is a great job which is you know. Motivating guys you know in the corner of stuff you know repetition over and over any Jews and you did to the point where you're like all right I know it. You know what my clothes you know -- offense and defense talking. Every game we do is it's hard together as a team as a unit in I mean that's I gotta be. What was the appeal of the Bulls in terms of what your role would be and and how much of that was listed how much of that was opportunities. On the legacy not right. I said before you know that's good you know opportunity comes is expected -- for me. It was a it was a it was a great chance to meet you know come here and help the team bring my energy investment and -- that's my greatest asset to begin with my energy. I just play with then I lived in those have for yourself. Your -- been pretty similar obviously throwing your new career at all all your defense Austrian energy scorer off the bench but you did -- a career high in assists last season -- -- say was that just kind of we did you have more play making responsibilities. Well I just I guess is just so I have I mean -- -- -- pinch vacate does not enough shots I guess they may need. From the minute and I really am I guess different from what. You also were multi sport athlete in high school yes football player track stock. Did you it was basketball always number one in your mind there was there a point when you're tearing up the grid -- go and I'm -- football. I mean that's like that's ovals earlier today on adding to the basketball letter. You know and I must they must always -- different -- football going on my whole life you know Deion -- my favorite player. My manager with my serve as well prayer when the era when the -- -- might include myself. So I just picked this board that you know everybody really count me out and I was like and that you can't make -- the NBA there's there's no way you have no chance. -- came a little easier for me. So I just you know win with you -- -- the challenge and I know Megan you know god bless me and I'm happy. Was it was today though is very you know liberals Ohio before we're not I was I was actually watching my best -- he never really thought I was going mouse you know now still trying to find a -- Now but I was a kid they'll watch a lot of feel my dad. They Sanders Deion sent out those I was thousand level for but I still have my local club as well actually today the miss it on my year. I'd like to some ruffled ball good night for me that's above my everything. That car 66 games he started last year that -- consider that -- that only only starter who started every game and how much pride you take that and you think this. Sometimes -- -- tenure was plastered to think Chicago appreciates. What you bring to the Bulls. Yeah I think so -- -- around my shoes -- of seasons from one through six games and below 150 days or whatever was in. We are injuries have bureaus and now and Alou on the now. Both look at that to stay healthy. For every game and I'm very proud of our penalty under the same thing this season. And I definitely Chicago appreciate what I do and how were Koren. I bring it every night in order says we've come on mark or earlier you know what once he gets one good game under the basket to be fun. Richard you've become sort of -- you know at times polarizing during your time you're so far mean. And you've handled it like a pro thank you. And we win had I mean at some point does it get old and it and what where does that come from the -- we have dealt with a pretty much had not just for me I just wanna win. You know sometimes you're gonna have thirty points sometimes you have ten point two miles in women's -- -- matters -- for -- Come in from Alaska from what was it like developing as a basketball player eleven. It was great. And I had a great coach took -- of semi dead first and I could choose -- -- My high school. I'm basketball's a few sports probably second the hockey -- issues -- And a great team James foursome they're good. I'm all force enough to build a new team -- like my grave playing with different players and different competition in the summertime I'll meet you -- him off season and then. And I screw up I would be coached -- a great coach martz who coached well. Amaro enjoyed -- when you add on to California for the California as we BO out of Fresno California we have loaded team -- myself to -- Stephenson. Remember more injury young. -- -- a good for a little bit. -- -- Check out today's daily lives there are only four different players. In Bulls history and we averaged fifteen points and eight lords who shot 50% this season. Carlos Boozer one of them and -- why look at the names on this last Artis Gilmore Michael Jordan. And it works great. Pretty select company when you see something like that that's gotta make you feel good about what you've accomplished. You have managed numbers are great and Obama be honest I just choose the championship -- he's involved in all stars and golden age in the vicinity is -- going to we will look for a championship and we got to go on this team. My grip I was older we had a championship. Nazr was on the team. I'm older guys that are searching for one thing that we don't have we want that generation we wanna ring we look at the east who's the most improved team -- against us. For me I think because there's a couple I think I think I think Boston the -- they -- Miami did a good job. They broke from Brooklyn actually might be the the most improved team to me. I'm in Georgia succumb affairs -- Wallace on you that toughness right there and you know alongside Deron Williams Brook Lopez and number -- their team they've been -- might be the most improved -- But don't sleep on the Chicago Bulls roster -- yeah might surprise some people say this we might be the most improved team to a. There have been athletes come through our town that have said. We got to win a title for to be a successful year and then I listened to Pete but in New York Yankees and others say. If you don't put the ring on it wasn't a successful season it doesn't matter what's your take. We won a championship and we knew we don't really know successful over -- There's one team become the first player bios on the glass and we want we want to become the first pick Ricky Bobby -- enough -- lessened to me that that should make exactly right. -- tell me about clicked for Tom Thibodeau we estimate about what is it like for you playing for him -- you played for Jerry Sloan did alleged it has is very similar you know I think chooses that is great man he's very thorough. You say is that a June series in the office there is watching film. Bouncing it might be the most prepared -- fell off a pro coach K I don't know how to serve our coastline for all of us. I like because Bobby -- everybody knows wears his emotions out of -- coach K is that the same guy but he doesn't ever let us see that. This move. These movies he's movie he lets us know when you when you when we -- pick it up a little bit you guys might you know Friday how well he didn't manage and handle all the time. The egos in the personnel is on the Olympic team I'm hesitant about it the good thing about coach K and I think to some in the Marcus goes -- movies there was they would bring him. Guys over you know with the Americans up high school whatever. We are there would amass those talents together so we just use that same form with less than Olympics and the Beijing 2008. He just mass -- -- -- would have meshed our group of guys together and he got -- Florida so the second time around and over here in London this year. Marshall's got from the on the first -- -- coast of the great double Brandon talent. And they can make and that's how it worked for for for his system every every team and Duke has been that way every team under the Olympic team has been -- -- the world game the same way. He has a unique ability to -- Lewis. Unite unite people. And meant to be on the same page. Millionaire which -- getting into coming here what how would you describe a typical Tom Thibodeau practice. I mean for us you know we go unless -- a -- we go over things and so. Until we really clearly understand you know coach is a -- to a thorough. And like it's its fun to really know exactly what he wanted to do when you're out on a course like you know senate you're out there as I get a coach. But I know what was supposed to be -- no I'm supposed to be everybody knows you know each other's position and this. It's -- he's -- brother played on a play where you know looking over your shoulder not knowing a play like you know everything in this it's been great. You won three consecutive slam dunk titles one had to go to overtime if you. That anymore and your future any kind of special things you may have cooked up if you do want. I don't know I mean as the rest of the young legs. Trying to save. Trying to save my bones and stuff like therefore you know putting -- good enough -- in -- he asked me go to the games. I gotta get affairs with a really low so when you call this a very good. Yeah he was beautiful animals left is ridiculous but I can do once -- when you calls but letting solid jump over you. What is apple collect tickets for that phone call list though I thought to tomorrow -- he gave me an idea because he knows when he was forty years I think since he won. And -- -- -- -- the present -- you know cost Lindsay a double was good -- anyway. Who would you like would you come with -- -- and I caught him in in our practice I did it one time and I was okay cool then we usually you called me was all rush right in there he was like give sure. Who's going to give them a moment and I was like all right. In the my good friend than anybody else first and -- jump over Jared Jeffries is a list 6916 and -- double digit underdog -- that was good -- something like that but I think it was he's had a tough tough. You think you guys for being here -- -- have a great season that he brings from you've got rich.
