CTL on Bears/Panthers
Transcript
I read your column that impressed today Jay Cutler didn't do what he had to do down the stretch he did. And a lot of people were not happy about style points and everything they want good teams win -- the worst days and I think the Bears were. You know they did not play well 53 sets the offense didn't really show up their defense was. Okay good deal a lot of yards to Steve Smith's more than we're used to seeing these but the key to that game was they gave a few goals and give up touchdowns. And you don't -- almost look at the standings and go ahead look at the standings and the Bears have. And anybody. But after what we've had this conversation before maybe even last year but this is a different conversation to. Watched the games they watch the games if you DVR go back and watch him again. This is not a bad football team this is the team no matter who they have beaten their seventeen teams the NFL I think 500 or worse. -- hoop more they gonna play that they cannot be. Really nobody and I think that when you have a day like yesterday it makes you frustrated at the Fayette. But this is still a very good football team I'm not gonna sit here on Monday. A week after saying you know this is the second best team in the NFC and watch him against the the Panthers struggles that you know all gotten I was wrong. And if you flip flopping like that this is still in my mind the second best in the NFC good enough to win the NFC. And there's no I want the Falcons have a safer. Without -- It's took. All of the teams with giants' fifth Brandon you guys gotta give Atlanta a little more -- normally do and I agree I mean literally put until they put in and out of let's talk about yesterday's we're what you guys think of that. Well I think you know as a coach and a player they want to house home watched that film the first three quarters in the closet and good afternoon -- tennis players. The -- deficit to find a way to Carolina excuse now. Can honor him field position the entire game kids in his NFL defense on that final drive I chose to do that I I don't understand -- -- on that final drive. They chose to punt cover forces quarters against Brandon Marshall quarterback options the outside are you kidding me -- Given the face them in and -- and they did have quite cover won't play cover two what you don't that's women -- more receivers don't give her give it once let's take. I agree that not a -- of execution was for the office of 14. Defensively that they allowed too much and -- gave -- talk Chris -- had his first kind of some game this season. But like giddy as a player you wake up in the morning what does -- say an attribute your six who want to put to bed made two correction move on next week. -- sure there's six the wind but I was very disappointing performance yesterday I mean if Steve Smith doesn't slip it's trying to pick six. He's had had a great receiver had a chance to make a touchdown that our C game away there's a six yard punt I mean OK they want great. I'm not I'm not impressed by the teams they've beaten so that lets see what happens in November December I'm with you. It's a good football team for sure. But I think the second best team in the NFC when they got the 25 ranked offense right -- know they are not the second best team in the NFC I just completely disagree with supremacist morning. Well written but I just don't agree with that because. I don't think Jay is an elite quarterback I still don't believe that I know we played well down the stretch the offensive line to train wreck I don't care how many people wanna get out there and keep defending the old line they -- nobody is the third in the line and on the in this one and then get -- offense. And you have question marks around that team the defense really good -- Yeah I noticed that. Well it wouldn't really Jaeger come from. The -- later you're automatically you want but there -- a lot of people and I feel like I do -- they have question marks about this team with Seattle all wine and roses that you -- watch the NFL I don't -- -- the roses either I'm saying that if you look around the league. Talk show me a dominant team. What do -- been dominant who would do in your mind is the dominant football -- Houston Texans are pretty dominant familiarity with the Texans to play in my home we're gonna find out when it do you think the Bears can -- the I think anybody can beat anybody at any given day OK but when you look at the Bears defense regardless whether you're offense is ranked. You have an opportunity every time you go up and yes Steve Smith slipped and a lot of things happen. You create your own luck. In the NFL -- -- today I am here people go why didn't they run the ball more OK why didn't they run the ball more than that tells me a lot about the game plan or what they call with the offensive coordinator call. Then there was a stimulus wasn't convinced they loving kid. He didn't have a good day it's green bag he didn't have a good day -- Carolina Jays got the -- fifth ranked offense at some point there's some flaws here the people are recognizing. The loudest applause of the Green Bay to no question they played -- -- watching yesterday a lot of the all of your Giants and every team has flaws. The question is when you get to those big games with the -- Not against Houston money and -- San Francisco and that's when we'll judged them. There were also voters and this isn't this isn't motivated this is in the BCS you don't need style points you decided dignity I think the Bears are good enough to get in the -- and then we'll release. I mean six sort of 601 but I think the debate is. Do we think third. Going to be these great teams you know six games there really matter I'm in the last have their schedules tough and then you know go to the playoffs. How -- they gonna do against easily team's radar don't documents are a bonus.
