Giles start with this are you surprised that the Bears fired lobby and that they did it so quickly. -- not really count on me can't be surprising and the players knew it was a possibility. And -- when the Packers didn't win -- get the Bears into the playoffs you knew that they didn't decisions were made with three different scenarios to go with the go well into the playoffs. They don't make the playoffs but when these last couple games or they lose to Arizona or Detroit. -- when they didn't get into the playoffs the decision was pretty pretty well made because that was a criteria that I criterion that to have Phil Emery laid out yet be consistently in contention that. Might not that Phil Emery has met the media I was very impressed with his candor. -- his refreshing honesty his willingness to. Pretty much open up here's how I made the decision here is how my career has gotten me to this point here's what I'm looking for what did you take away from it. But he said he has the best job in the world until you have the best job in the world I do -- that. I think he was he he went to lengths to explain a couple things -- the firing certainly. But also. What he did or didn't do was with respect to the offensive line for example. And what his thinking is on Jay Cutler those kinds of things. Yeah I think you're you -- two point -- was it was 45 minutes post when our. And as long as you wanna talk he was willing duty or you lose it when we answered some questions. Pretty straightforward thing. You know it was what -- when he went through what he's looking for in the next head coach he said I want someone that can be even keel well that was a lobby. But he also set I'm looking for someone who can. Deal with the media the good. The bad and be somebody that we're really proud of representing us in that public forum did you take that as a criticism of the lobby or just. He's looking for something totally different. -- and taking his -- as a criticism I think that I know the organization industrial lobby handled himself. Yeah you know -- is very respectively and a couple in the organization and it looked like some in the media people didn't like him that's a whole different thing. Plus either you again for looking -- body of work what we was here for nine years and over the Packers tundra Maxima. Some some enemies or some some dislike -- -- in the media members in the public. I think he was looking more -- what what I wanna make sure I get that kind of guy so that's I don't think it was an indictment of Lovie Smith. As much as I put a premium on this in the new age of people you know such a public -- a public position. Right now fans are sitting on New Year's Day and they are listening to Phil Emery talked about what he's looking for when he said. Money will not be a constraint here week it's federal we have to spend to get the right guy. Immediately. People are starting to think of the biggest names that could be out there I'll throw one that you. The guy that I would love to see in the seat. Jon Gruden your thoughts. -- I'm a -- of these guys are bringing some of the players. And that made them successful in their primes. Recycled Super Bowl winning coaches. Not a big fan I think what you should be looking for is the guy who was Jon Gruden. Before it became Jon Gruden it -- saying it's like I'm I want somebody who's got to be ability recognized talent all on you know and development. Personally I think gruden has been rock stars I don't think that's exactly what this organization -- looking forward to it. -- order don't agree to disagree on that one because this is Chicago this is a major market -- charter franchise he is a proven commodities had success when you look at the coordinators that are out there. Another name. Very intriguing is Kyle Shanahan some say he might be too young others say he be the perfect guy to come in here grow with the organization. What do you think him and Mike McCoy. Highly of both. And kind of the reason they just I just talked about with -- -- gets a yes there's a lot of star power that's a nice thing. What you are looking forward possibly is a young guy who can command connect with players. Not all full of himself but full of them getting some results somebody who wants to make a name for himself doesn't mean they gamble I'm already in the Shanahan this earlier premise under you know the status is feasible to do as good as it gets. And and Mike McCoy in Denver who's had Richards got one with -- with with Tim Tebow won a playoff so. Those are the kinds of guys I'm looking you know not necessarily to what you when you're young guy or girl to wanna get a -- coordinator but somebody who's got some pop on the way up. John last one for you mentioned getting up pop on the way up the one thing about getting someone who has had success before as an NFL head coach. Means he's proven he can do it. No matter how good a coordinator you get whether it's McCoy. Shanahan. Dennis did in Houston Carmichael in New Orleans the guy down in Tampa. Those guys have never proven that they can put the black cannot move over one seed is a laid -- McGuire said improve. Then the head guy they could do that why are you convinced that's the way to go. Well I think again I'm looking at its Pacific storm wanna build coward I want to have some of these guys I don't think those are the ways ago I don't think you're gonna readers who play Uga. To -- to borrow from Paul McCartney here. It and I think there's an energy that comes in with 88 guy on the make. Guys trying to develop something a guy who comes from a really good program get it they haven't done it put. And Mike Ditka had never done it before it came right I don't hold that against somebody. I want to see this as Phil Emery said I'm looking for excellence in a role whatever that role was if this guy was a -- coordinator. Is Mike McCarthy you're gonna get something.
