For reaction to the trust me and -- we bring in our CSN Chicago dot com Bears insider John moon Mullin. And -- there are a lot of great coaches in the NFL these days but what do you think it was. That sold the Bears on mark trust me we've been out of the league really since 2004. Triple the first and it jumped out was exactly would fill every. Brees says his first point when talking about what the new coach would have to be and that was -- sort excellent so I think. At first it seemed that better what -- really talking about it and then you look at what he ended up with and mark trust and excellence in -- and did you mention quarterback coaching you know Rich Gannon. You work with Ron Amadon he is it is cornerback and it -- -- my draw or what was a two time MVP. So there's a tremendous reason. He's got tremendous results from the most important position on the field which is clearly what attracted to -- to them. And you know I think a lot of people you know you look at what -- and has done with quarterbacks you look at. The offensive side the ball all the problems that the Bears had their this year and I think you are not talked about this a lot of the last couple weeks the fact that. They really wanted to get an offensive guy in here because they don't need to fix the entire team so it's almost like the Bears looked -- like if we can fix the offensive side the ball. We can compete right away instead of maybe trying to do both sides of the -- -- sort of get that feeling it in terms of how they look for head coach. Well they did an allegation almost so they put an exclamation point camp when they their first tire was and was there and Carl work the -- wasn't -- and I was an offensive guy who's Columbia's own coordinator and play caller -- first calling makes. Is to get an offensive coordinator or in this case a guy with the offense line background. So would be really put in some solid foundations into the offense. Addressing clearly personal quarterback which freshmen in the offense -- line with two with -- with farmers are. The the speed with which those things were done did you sense of how committed they were to picture them. And I think you know when you talk about this Bears offense it'll be interesting to see number one who will call the plays for the Bears will be march -- will be -- But it's kind of interesting because obviously Roemer comes from offence -- they really get the ball down the field you think to what. -- guys like Drew Brees has done and they think of trust and in his West Coast background. So I think if -- Bears fan that certainly I have to be interest in at least for the fans known. It really does give an innocent just checking -- in Chicago that companies. That your Brees was almost unstoppable and -- part of that scheme part of that Drew Brees but part of that was as an offensive line. The calmer coached. Lecture him even lost Carle -- a Pro Bowl guard and stole. The debris is always being sacked once or for 25 players were so there's correction interpret twelve. And also look at when these guys were together in Oakland but from -- to balance. Not much in terms of the play calling. We use -- running back -- there was -- Jerry Rice and Charlie Garner was a running back caught 91 balls. So you really you know you can -- includes -- somebody's future in their past. These guys work well together. Both it is a dimension with the quarterback and also taking care that quarterback. And let me ask you know last that I talked to someone said they spoke with a few coaches around the league. And as you know this time a year a lot of coaches are on the phone with -- each other. And they're trying to figure out where the next job opening is gonna be as they sort of figure out where they're gonna make their next stop the -- was that they got that the Bears were really trying to hold on to at least the core. Of their defensive staff have been some reports today that they'd like to keep rod -- -- I would think someone like Jon Hoke would also wanna be retained on the staff but as far as you know at this point I -- you heard anything more about that. -- you they have given -- some things really can't report yet or Russians they report but. -- and has talked to people. So it's not a given that -- no we will stay here. Or she wants to and that's you know route sixty plus so -- what is sort of put his plans are but. Are clearly very very popular with the you know with the players and also very successful this team have four pro bowlers. Including a young guys like. It attention Jennings and Henry Melton so they've got a lot out of this defense. It's not settled yet it's -- -- what you're going to do they're very good restaurant which is special teams and an offense but. Defense that it will will play out. I you know we mention Joseph did -- she just talked about the special teams. You know it was kind of -- a lot of -- may jokes about the fact that. The -- interviewed so many people for this head coaching job but as a lot of people understand it is sort of a fact finding mission for Phil Emery. Any wonder you know when he met with Jodie Camilla did you say hey this is a guy I wanna bring to the staff because he -- as did end up coming here. He and I also would you're letting date we'll go to Kansas City. Reconnect with Andy Reid. Who was uninteresting it's also the of these sequences and they told was on set but couldn't imagine deacon mills. -- those drug was interviewed before told. But not at that doesn't you know it could have been. But it appeared from early on that. Dave told was not really high in the -- on the list of fill every candidate so. You're right I think there was some fact finding. You know whether or not deacon mills was the kind of guy who say well I don't consider coaching job I'm not going anywhere. The F clearly there was a connection and the fact that something was done anyway even though didn't get the -- job speaks to what he thinks he hasn't in Chicago. Let's get back to the at some point this is something else you and I have discussed several different times. It's so put the onus -- got to be on Jay Cutler to pick up his game -- to grab hold of an offense and really take charge. I'll -- offense in lead this team because that's really why he was brought here so did you sort of feel that may be. That trust me it isn't 100% tied to -- if things don't work out this season. Absolutely -- I would even go for that -- and saved it to Phil Emery is not really tied to Jacob and how he's used the term franchise quarterback. Which makes some people wince a little bit because he has always played like one but. -- Jay -- is that a cut the year you see quarterbacks like Joseph Flacco we've been playing up their contract and and play well so. I don't think there's a clear there is clearly there is no mandate out there and that mark -- and will have Jay Cutler for 2013. Beyond that he was brought here just rubber stamp the guys who exhorted -- it's gonna be both to make let's see what we can make -- we have. But no this organization. Even above Marc Grossman does not wedded to Jay Cutler. One of the things that Phil Emery talked about it after he dismissed Lovie Smith was the fact. He made it pretty clear that he was unhappy that a lot of the offensive weapons we're not used guys like Matt Forte Earl Bennett the tight end position. You know so much of the offense this past season was geared towards Brandon Marshall seems like almost only. Brandon Marshall -- you get the feeling that knowing trust -- background and you see what homer and the New Orleans Saints did that this new offense is gonna make sure that all the guys on the field. Whether to wide receivers the running backs the tight ends are going to play a part. In the offense is that something that that you believe. Absolutely different dimension to bring it into people's future can looked a little bit of what they've done. These guys have done they have spread the ball around the -- -- playing in Canada it was that that's a wide open offense to them -- need to use a lot of receivers. That didn't happen then clearly even though -- every one after Brandon Marshall that wasn't the intention of him catching. 40% of all -- the Bears through so the factors you mentioned that when these guys were together in Oakland they're run there running back as the number two. Pass receiver on that team so I would really look for a good flowering of Matt Forte and and development of outshot Jeffrey. And Emmitt Earl Bennett they have weapons they simply didn't use them and can all be put on the topic supplier hasn't really come back to who was making decisions and I think right now. With some elect mark Grossman -- in such a quarterback mentor some of that decision -- going to be better. -- -- that we appreciate -- for people that don't know -- you are a true -- you had surgery on your -- so you're laid up at home right now otherwise I know you you would love to be here with me but hopefully have a speedy recovery and we appreciate you joining us today -- you don't.
