You're thoughts on and what's happened. In terms of -- you know they're being kind of minimal roster turnover from last season wanted to do so far the only change if you think he would Keppinger and now it. AJ go and it is different in a lot of ways but. I knew I look at it more when your. In a position you're gonna spend money you're gonna spend it wisely in the and in talking to rich corner in spring training or in the winter meetings. I don't want this to spend money just so everybody who say we we we spent money you know there is. Budgeting and in looking at how we're gonna spend it and where we're gonna go with it. Yeah I like bringing the pitchers back and and give the guys that we got in the Keppinger makes. I just looked different lineup I think it is different type hitter we've. You know last year was struck out a lot this guy makes contact and he you can. You know place in the lineup in the slot so it it becomes different. Lou and the way we look at as far as what Detroit. Has done vacancies on the that's great right now but it. Again you know we heard all this last year of the same thing with the gloom and doom of our team that. You know once you get on the field they're really get to gather and you become unit and it becomes different the the field rhythms different in its my job. To get them believe it but it doesn't matter who they thought were ready to play within. One of the things you warned us about last year was the dependency on the home run in the fact that you're -- get a lot of solo homers and not hitting to the situation is often as you would like what are your summary some your thoughts as far as addressing that this this spring. I think in the industry trade is the situation stuff that we we relied and who we're all happy with the with home runs. In between those home runs. You need to be able score some runs and and do in different ways I think that. That point stores in the last year we relied a lot on. Just waiting for a three run homer and you know guys would try and it's and manufactured -- we just go for home runs so. Also is striking out and not enough put in play and put pressure team and you know just it's it's going to be addressed just returned as far as you know what we're doing in certain drills and just our mental makeup going into it. Does the lack of lefthanded hitting on the roster now does that concern in terms of lineup flexibility or is that kind of overblown. I don't know if it concern you would like to have it again in talking to Rick in -- do that the way it means don't. I told don't sign. Left handed hitter just to get let -- hear him in in looking at certain things were look at me guys that. Have. Left for worst batting average -- against right he's been our right handed hitters so. I don't want this to get a left handed hitters figure left and here it makes the difference is gonna make us better. Go ahead gonna do. You don't don't don't just do it to assume he's. And you know normal we we need a lefty here right here lefty here seeing that eventually that could happen that. Him make him beat in -- not just you know. Give it just to get it. For whatever reason they'll Israel's has had a bit of the track record as an every other year -- do you. Ignore that do you talk to about it do you do anything to focus on to it pretty good year last year I think. I didn't see him have the bad years so for me yeah -- for me he's Alex Rios that I saw last year and I'm excited for him to have that the same kind of production that he had last year. And it. You know before parts of it it's its first hand come the spring training in dealing with the people that we have. You know there there's no reason for him to have not have a better year than he had last year. Knowing that he he's come in dealing with the same people that he had during the year I don't think you start off that great. So if you look -- other than a year or maybe he starts off good and continues doing what he's doing. You know I'm I'm looking at me having a better year than had last year instead of everybody sitting there looking at the glass empty. You know it it's always -- I think for everybody in baseball in the sport you don't look at that glass half empty it. Going into spring trail when everybody has to have a glass you know that's full Dan haze of -- CSN Chicago dot com wrote today these are students of Bobby Thigpen in your bullpen coach. Bobby thinks is going to be the -- -- bullpen in the major leagues right now I know there's one move that was reported last week that. He had a meet official yet good which is -- another experienced arm. For the bullpen. Is that open your eyes pretty much set in and what kind of potential does it have especially with the upsides and some of those young guys -- it and have potential I think last year we had a lot of young guys that they came in and produced and -- passive opens up as the closer than you have Nate Jones coming out of nowhere. Having the year that he had so. It you know we have and do things that there are kind of reporter out there and I think it strengthens your bullpen but you're also getting guys. That are young that have a full year under their belt and and that's a big thing for these guys to be able to understand. What it is before they're gone out there and you know talent their hair's on fire and -- and under pressure. Now I think at the end of the year all those guys became. I understood me understood what it took to be a -- living in the situations and you know what I was going to be called for and what situations and go -- it becomes. More mature bullpen than it was last year you know we've ruled out I think. Seven rookies last year and again so. 88 things. That I got that I got the series he's hit your vet you know you you -- that inning game I mean you're. You're you your run out some fresh faces of the. So little negative lucrative video from -- was up to yesterday with his -- positive body feel today after -- -- a little bit of yelled a little guys -- over -- it -- this club yesterday great cause for -- intentionally. Give it to you. Is not a team that you guys that do -- pretty -- over there at ever grade I actually that if they haven't back I might go back. My I mean not to that was. I enjoyed that and I feel good in my backfield units how do you feel that if you're doing it -- that's -- little while warmup as I came in halfway through their class sizes great. -- -- -- they're yeah -- -- Hopefully that what you guys in I don't know where but for it's it's a great cousin is a great shots great place come with the help me to come off the floor and my highest gentle yoga and it's gentle you guys at the same thing is I'm on the floor and I have a hard time getting enough which.
