Let's talk Lovie Smith are you surprised he's not a head coach I am I'm just. I don't -- stunned -- am shocked. You know when you look at his resume OK you know we get to the Super Bowl wants would come as the Bears coach in the nine years. Ten and six and everyone knows tennis six to have a ten to six record and it's very difficult to do. And we understood going into this season that. Despite a ten to six record yet to make the playoffs but as David said he wore out his welcome but I am surprised that. No wind. Gravitate got a lot of kids who caught a lot of was here shooting pro football weekly. And he said to -- I think it's a matter of moments loves to get hired and public edited. No shot he gets a head coaching job in the offseason if the Bears fire and sure enough we clear the Bears fired him. You know get a head coach you -- I was a little surprised anyone in 63 record. And that's what's what's crazy about everybody is the fact that it all. The Mike Singletary situation with the Bears that I thought that was the token interview for that position. On but put Lovie Smith has a good that the credentials and do you mean to tell me that not one team. Eighteenth in the -- looking for a head coach couldn't. Didn't want this guy. Slow. -- what happened. They're up off that I think there's couple things in play here and number one if you go all the way back so four when he gets Bears show up. The job that Lovie wanted at that time was the Falcons struck out. The job was also open. The Falcons and as we know play on artificial surface in a dome or resolve that speed. He was coming from Saint Louis. Where he wanted to do adopt the Mike Martz offense their quarterback in place and Michael Vick. And that's that's the job he wanted to he even interviewed down there -- no one went to the might know what would I've -- Jim Mora at the time but let it betrayed god Jim Mora went there and all of us ever since the deal was he didn't interview well. That that was the word that came out of Atlanta than -- in and -- well. I don't know how we interviewed this time around with three opportunity -- Opportunities that he had. But if you are gonna bring him Lovie Smith and you're gonna interview. Him -- his 81 and 63 record as head coach is very impressive and that's that's the bottom line. Put the question since general managers and owners are gonna -- -- about offensive football and given multiple opportunities. To correct. Many years with the Bears he couldn't get that done. What will let me ask you with -- speculated that Lovie count. -- -- indicated that he did not want to be BO coordinator at all and maybe that I tell -- some people -- I don't that I don't know why that would turn you off. You would -- head coach of the guys has not -- -- -- -- -- -- wanna be coordinator and I don't think that would -- at the turn off at all and and I don't elected and I don't blame them neither first set up. Collected the money regroup and I would think that -- these opportunities next year. Will be strong I think he's kept. The rest and he's been a Super Bowl he's been on the other NFC championship game. He's eighteen games above 500. And that it next year I believe there will be strong. -- led push for. You know the Rooney rule and so minority hiring it's because. Of how this year went or you had -- head coach. Coaching openings none of them go to a minority in seven GM jabs and none of them go to -- Or did this just doesn't make sense no you know it's to me that's shocking I mean this day and age that you even have to -- the rule in place. Did to get the best candidate sort of. I had and I think what they're gonna do is they're gonna expand the rule there's already been talk about it to include. The coordinator positions and that will hopefully. Eliminate the excuse that is given sometimes well. We didn't -- the remaining minority candidates to consider for this process here -- there are a lot of coordinators and now. If you take the Rooney rule and you apply and also the coordinator jobs. Hopefully that will. Open up the pipeline yes and who knows correct what is so right now it -- disparity it's.
