We're now in the box with Mitch Williams from the MLB network -- thanks for join us -- talk a lot about. The closer situations on the north side town south -- -- -- the first question you his. What does it take any former closer would it take to be successful closer and with all the media. Around two -- it tougher to be that close -- that -- all the pressure this out there. Not -- think it's any different today pressure wise to be closer I think you have to -- number one. Thing you have to have to be an effective closer is an extremely short memory. Yeah you have to have good stuff to do it but the night before means nothing going into the next night. Whether you say that game whether you blew the game night game that happened last night you had to be able to put behind you and look forward to tonight. That's let's talk about the Cubs year old club pitched here successfully at -- What would you say if the only -- about building a team for the long haul at Wrigley Field is it power is it speed is it a combination what you have to do to win in Chicago. I think yet have a combination the number one I think the first thing you have to have is starting pitching if you don't have starters that can get you deep and the ball games -- Wrigley. You're gonna have a tough time winning. In that ballpark and in order to have success as a starting pitcher there. I don't say you pitch to the ballpark I -- use your stuff. And trust your stuff a lot of guys went to Wrigley and trying change who they are you can't do that. A title at the White Sox are now Addison Reed a rookie closer last year he had 29 saves and also the NE RA a four point 75 what do you see. From read and you think he has the make up physical mental makeup to be a successful closer going forward. Well I don't know his make up because I've never met the man. I can tell you this he absolutely has stuff to close. And when I look at any RA as a closer I don't take that into consideration very much you can have one bad outing. And it could be in a game where the game that -- you just get more. And you give up a bunch of runs of balls up here -- way that doesn't matter to me it's how many saves did you convert the opportunities you were given that's the most important. -- -- Tigers give Victor Martinez back they sign at about Sanchez back they went to a World Series can the White Sox contend in that division have they done enough. To stay right there with Detroit. I don't think there's Damon baseball's done enough to stand at Detroit. Yeah as you said they're getting V mart back date they -- -- Sanchez back that's probably the best rotation in all of baseball. The back into the bullpen is going to be the only question mark who was gonna close. They have a guy and Phil Coke in the post season stepped up when he had to and did a great job and they also have a young kids they may count on but when I look at that team. The starting rotation that the Tigers have that lineup I don't see another team based. All -- and compete. Do you think knowing that Chicago fan base as well as you do and having watched Major League Baseball. This market will handle long term rebuild or should the Cubs -- contenders. By late say and have 2014 and they're gonna have some issues going forward. I don't think they necessarily have to be a contender this year especially on the north side the north side fans are some of the best in the world they come out and support the team. I know I played there we had a great year in 89 and not so great here in ninety but. They have the right people in the right positions now in the front office to build this franchise back to what it should be to get him in the post season. I don't forget MLB network the exclusive home of the twice thirteen World Baseball Classic mix thanks again for your time. My pleasure guys anytime --
