Inside -- pretty -- it's presented like kind of now -- Tell me something about yourself that would surprise people well and proof. That would surprise people. But when I asked the question Bobby Hull he said every game it took the ice and played in fear that I would like paying customers. No none that I didn't have any kind of not something like that you know. But. I'm the only thing I could say is that. I think when I went when I wanted to Europe to play you know being back in Greece. And and I think knowing that. Everything that I did there and every game was basically televised and my parents and do everything my former coach is when everything handled expectations and the people I don't mean I didn't want to let them out so I think may be. Going into the game I don't know that was. Added pressure or anything like that by the definitely. Made me realize that the way I've prepared every day and you know making sure that they were. A lot of times and I equivalent to the night clubs and -- again we've summit should that I stay at home so. You know -- and Laviolette. You know. My family and all the people that really believe and and also myself though because going back to Greece and everyone knew me there had a lot of relatives on -- is back here and my family member's knowledge that would not everything that goes out -- isn't such a small country you have. Ten newspapers that -- soccer you know you've got to -- -- know about it I wanted to make sure that the disappointment. What are your memories of 19981. Year with the fire coming to Chicago holds us. I think to come to my mind obviously. Leaving for pre season and go to Mexico for 21 days from coaches a disaster. Boy. 41 days be an isolated with a group. -- those are a good team and it's a good opportunity to bond and this of that but I think. The third week was a little too much it was in one place who has it it was tough but. I think it was. The first two weeks are great cause you kinda brought the team together you know. And I think I'm remembered my members the last game you know and we want them celebrating. With with with the players and stuff like that that. You know those special moments so. I remember the beginning and the end I mean there was a lot of great parts. In the middle in any season you know but more than anything that we had a team that you know stuck together that believe. In each other and and we didn't have any individuals I think we had a lot of great players I think everyone. Their main focus was a team and they did everything. Well. The success of the team knows a great thing about that thing you know we had some big egos but you know I think everybody kinda. But those Eagles and their energy and focus to make sure that they did everything that for the success of the team and it's amazing when you see it from the beginning and I everything kind of came together and in the end to you know to. When as an expansion team and when the double to the MLS cup the US open cup was. You know for a passer and just like that's another moment that I am just very thankful to be a part of and you know having the opportunity to come back -- in my career and you know professional soccer to. You know get going again in the city it was fantastic you know. How about playing at Chicago stadium wherever -- go my brother and you know I've grown up I was not the biggest soccer fan but I watch the staying indoors -- thought it was the coolest thing I think. Listen there was no place like I said if you tell me what you know of the best members you know in my career. One I mean I would put it second it was for us would be. Signing a professional contract never forgot that my press conference and then second would be scoreless first goal as a professional player and it was at the stadium. It was amazing against Kansas City every moment that than. Just doesn't that the place was incredible. That the noise you know incredible publicity it was just something I'll never forget -- eleven tape and put it on -- -- just to watch it. And yeah and I never I would I'll never I'll never forget that you know I'll never forget that and. So there's a special place to play special place what was it like coming back to the fire's technical director now head coach. I wanted to get back. And be involved. At the highest level you know. Professional soccer and -- was. Yeah option here -- there were some other opportunities. As an assistant coach to go to some different teams but my dream was -- host to. You know to wait indication and I hope that when they would have an opportunity to be involved with the fire and I got that opportunity when you know our -- involvement. But the team and I think the league at that time as it was grown I think it was very difficult for one coach. Like it was back and when I came into the league too. Kind of run everything so you -- general managers technical directors. In the league was heading that way and I met with -- -- and opportunity and brought it back and as a technical director. To the team and you know I know him a lot you know she believed in me given the opportunity and obviously. All the necessary -- and I have an attitude to be successful and that role. And then obviously taken and actually had a coach at that time things would go to law. We're not going well we had to me. I change. It was towards that goal of the season when we did. Very difficult to bring -- -- from the outside and I was offered opportunities have been and I did so because you know I believe in the players that we had. It's not something I was looking for at that time you know because we. Everyone in the organization did everything we could to make sure that time that our coach Carlos de Los -- were successful. But when things single though we're not going well we made the change in. I was asked about the opportunity stepped -- and just over the transition would be this -- this because of the players and the environment. So. That's high O'Connor came about and after the decision on that I was offered the opportunity contingent. You know here we are. -- guess you guys played Manchester United couple years ago and actually had the lead. Pretty late in the game and they're considered to be. The New York Yankees of professional soccer is that a fair characterization or for sure. What was that like for you to be standing coaching your team that Sarah Ferguson could be coaching his team will go or go or actually mean -- -- -- -- that's a great experience but then there was some that they it would bring it and I was looking okay here comes a guy that's worth fifteen million and you know those films the good news with you know whatever is getting -- ten minutes I mean it's. You know but but. I think that the gap. It is a lot more an issue with the opportunities in games like that you know so. I think it was a great opportunity for the fans in general to come you know our players they came out that they did that put a great. Shell out there and they you know I think the gap is a lot smaller than people think. Coming up keeping their fire burning. While giving it everything. I think that's more important -- inside look bring -- this movie like that.
