Gonzo leaves on Sunday to head out to Arizona White Sox pitchers and catchers -- Cubs pitchers and catchers. Who report and that full squad -- week later. Gordon Beckham. At some point. It's either going to be. He takes that next step and becomes the star than ever thinks he can be up defensively and offensively or people are gonna go we had it would that it didn't work out the way they had hoped. Is this the year. We said that last year his breaking revert to but I think Tom. You can look at it both ways one is. He had a rough to forty hits a line drive -- -- some tough luck but over the course of the season you are what you are Bill Parcells said so. He's cut down the strikeouts he's he's working more deep counts but now we got to see the results over a full season as a. A mental thing with him do you think this is just he's he's. Once -- succeeds so well. It just seems like once he gets an a hole would take them for -- to get out of it the last couple years and have been. Always been great September that's what whet our appetite the next year but during the season you seem to get a funk and can't get out of at all. I think it sometimes he's been on overload as far as the information is being given to woman I think. I'm not everybody's been trying to help them he's he's a pretty fortunate that those says he expects big things Konerko said he expects. Really big things but I think that's when he's got a second baseman as you'll find. This guy's got gold glove caliber stuff doesn't yes he does it unfortunately for him he's got guys like to know Pedroia. Houk who feel like crazy so he doesn't get the attention those guys -- -- the best place to hit him in the lineup. I think instead until leaving commitment on the ninth hole where would you have him I'd still keep them there until he starts hitting I think it's just the the expectations are low because once again they've tried each the past two years from the second spot that hasn't happened so I think. It's safe to -- ninth -- -- we -- Keppinger who can hit various spots contact. Do you think they brought him up too soon. No because I think he was ready and I think there's some criticism about that I understand it but you know what if Josh Fields would hit in 2009 we don't have this discussion. But let's go through the White Sox lineup. -- this year though Alexi Ramirez. Tyler flowers and there are some key guys that you don't quite know what you're gonna get. You expect good performances out of Konerko. We've talked about Beckham what do you expect -- some of the guys at the bottom of the order. I think that's the key ME -- gonna tinker with the lineup in spring training so don't you know jump off a cliff did you see some crazy stuff because he's gonna experiment because. If you look at their hitters and even if you rank coming and kind of project that now you think for mirrors. Seventh. Feel fullback or maybe eighth or ninth of flowers and -- spot and that's kind of Dicey because these guys are on base percentage guys but I think. The key to all this is going to be the mirrors as grows flowers hitting enough. Power and cut down his strikeouts give you semblance. Some some decency down the bottom of the order. What do you figure this way it's actually. Well the last couple years Sox fan again last couple years. If you like February predictions of a baseball season are too. You know intelligent yeah so you know I. I I've got not that business I don't know I because I'm younger I. I always uses example because tiger is just so vividly but I remember Sox -- in 2005. Where people were going up to Kenny and seeing. One another this year is over because -- you know they traded Carlos Lee and -- -- noting come back he'll what what you tell for 2006. And nobody had any expectations for 2005. And they won the World Series so it's just too hard to predict I don't. I don't know I mean I you know Gordon Beckham is a guy that I just wonder whether or not. He's still learning. And if you're learning at the Major League level play it's really hard because it seemed like -- -- slumps and he just either. Like you said easier getting too much information or he just doesn't know how to make the adjustments that he needs to make you because that's what I guess it's a constant adjustment. I sat on baseball hot stove stove a -- so the other day. That I thought that's that is to chuck and -- taken a beating the Sox fans on Twitter not saying it because I'm a Cubs fan I hate to say no. Honest to goodness I'm not I think the Cubs have improved their pitching. I question the White Sox bottom of their order -- questioned the health of their pitching. I really do Gavin Floyd had some injury you've got -- -- they fell back and shoulders they don't come back like elbows to shoulder injuries are really tough. Can kind of did not finish the season and a good way I just don't off the Sox I think the Cubs may have a better record not to say both teams are going to be good. I think both there in the seventies I veteran help. The White Sox do you think that comes on about a -- White Sox they do they don't have I think that's raising more than I used to -- out of this another come in and relatives in ninety plus games again I don't see this this White Sox team losing ninety games. Not at all -- to -- ninety but I don't see the Cubs lose in ninety. How -- scores are going to be there course is going to be gone. -- before half the year. They -- Edwin Jackson's innings eater and someone else that you. That's a margin then what else. They're but I felt confident guys coming off and I -- these guys coming off and now it's all guys have put a point that his foes meet what we're not playing Paterno ability seems went 74 way. The other question -- question I have about the Sox rotation obviously thank you don't know how he's gonna come back but you know get the -- wasn't very good last year. I mean whether it's he wasn't -- -- are whatever was -- he's got a pitch better. So that's a question I have you know can tell you how you and Jackson I'm not really worried about cantata because I think the the tail off last year was just the fact that there was the most he's ever -- -- as a pro so. Yeah I think that was natural. You and it's still going to be is he going to take the USS I still I loves and he'll -- The next step you know what -- he's been doing pretty good prone breaking pitches -- any discomfort. You can do a lot worse in town -- number five guy and puts any Yahoo! threw pretty well Puerto Rico working on what he had to work on. Who does that leave people it is Floyd Floyd. -- Floyd pitched pretty well the last three starts.
