Transcript
KC what is the mood would you characterize them all the beat writers. The fact that Derrick Rose sat down USA today and I handpicked interview. And yet you've got guys who have been good to Derek. Have been good to the Bulls are there every day with their lunch in there Hart had to do their job and they'll get the chance to talk to them how would you characterize the mood -- -- your brother and two words. Wasted energy and being. What do you know that it happened. I don't think readers really care about that stuff it's a different world of media. We were told that there were talks early before he's ready to play we -- following those rules and the agencies that some but also worried about it it's not gonna do anybody any. What is your take when you think he will return and are you bothered at all by the fact that he says. I'm not gonna play -- I'm 110%. No I mean I've been around there since it's been a rookie I mean you know he's a very thoughtful guy the I -- city gonna play those under 10% and he and he also young -- -- -- -- next season but I might be back tomorrow I mean. You know you see that you the kid who's going through a tough injury unit and a very serious recovery. I think basically at the -- Tuesday when he when he said -- fairly consistent with what your organization has been saying he's not gonna play. Can tell he's mentally and physically ready. The biggest thing at the got that interview was the mental hurdles that he still feels like he needs the Cleary and in that perspective this is easy for me to say -- not my knee. I think it is important for the comeback this year because I think that clears that portion of this process. Move into next season so he has that. That part of Middle -- to clean slate moving into next season that he can tackle physical part. The doctor Brian -- -- he position and at that may twelfth news conference last year after the surgery was very clear in saying this season he will not be back. That being the high flying -- Derek that'll be the 2013 fourteen seasons so in that regard. I think it's important for -- come back at some point this season and I do you think you'll come back at some point this season. -- do you think the organization was blind sided by that article are they disappointed in that article -- Everybody's make it much ado about nothing it's you have to change what he's ready you'll be back. Well I mean. OK I know it's not obviously sit in their ways and it's up before I mean look you BR the article you interview set up -- you -- -- -- Bulls had no control over so. I don't think -- experiences upset about it but they realize that that's kind of goes against what they've been saying all season so what are they supposed to do I mean. There are two grown men division seasonal -- grown people they've made that decision. As far as blind sided it took place in the -- and -- floor with cameras that are so I don't think they're blind sided by. David how wrote in his column today. Then he's wondering if a Venus is driving the bus son when he was playing who's making the decision and it might not be the Bulls. Do you agree with any of that premise. Why don't think he says specifically got to -- you sit there you go. There's chances obviously part of this equation as well and I think if that's true I think. You don't Eric's I think is the collaborative effort I think it's obviously Jerry Reinsdorf. Team physician Brian Cole gar Forman and John Paxson Derek Dirks brother refuses manager whose agency. Obviously his sponsors want him to come back when he's ready to be believed dominated him because you know he satellite time -- shoe companies but. I don't think I don't think whether or what how much Derrek Lee will be dictated by a sponsor.
