Transcript
For the latest let's go up to the valley of the sun. Bring it CSN Chicago back Cubs Sox insider Dan -- and John Danks throw bullpen today it's the first time since the surgery in August you talk to him afterwards -- he -- -- Well you know John Danks. And talking and he was definitely pleased that he he won he needed to give myself a -- -- as he could tell when he walked off the mound initially he was kind of open they've been more perfect. But at this point I think the team has really happy and and he should be happy with where he's progressed and we're talking about a guy who. Had surgery in August and he's able throws bullpen and Tyler flowers actually said that his curve ball is probably as good as he'd seen it. Ever and and he complements changeup has cut fastball so I I think that you know what for where he is right now this is a very good step. Tell us your opinion of the bullpen as it shapes up. You know. From what you wanna CME's talked Don Cooper talked for governments -- You saw what they're looking for which was the signs of health he's thrown over the top he's thrown easy he's not wavered at all. There's no grimace is on the face the grimace is on space for because he was missing location a little bit. That's expected when you haven't thrown how much I know he's thrown a -- bull pens here and there but I mean this was. This is the first time in front of people with expectations and that really pleased with the way he handled it. Robin -- are -- extension. What's the buzz in camp about it. I you know. The way that they're playing today is that. He wants the focus on now I think it's very similar to how he expects his players to be focused on today focus on the game today and win today. And I kind of think that. You know I mean there's some concern that maybe this is where he wants -- to the White Sox and -- no that's not the case from inter saying no that's not the case. I just don't want to distract that rather -- and deal with that when I get there and so I think that's how they're kind of handle it how it's perceived outside. That's you know today I guess that's for every one that kind of decide for themselves but he's just focused on now. Large number of guys position players have reported erratic correct anybody -- jumped out to you that looks like they're great shape. Yeah definitely Alex Rios looks like he's -- go to World Baseball Classic is supposed to do that in a couple weeks. Paul Konerko checked in the first day in and he looks like he's in good shape you know a lot of guys are in and I think that there's a team that's fired up here and kind. Wants to get past that that pour and at last season and and rally around it. Pilots talk about Tyler flowers his first camp as the starting catcher how is he handling things. So far so good he's gonna set a date on that time they were no longer allowed to ask about HM I'm. I guess that's understandable. You don't wanna talk about -- anymore you wanted to get on with your job. But you know he's have a good time he's been here for almost two weeks now he's he's. There's not many pitchers that he's not familiar with so I think. That he's doing everything he needs to do at this point. To take over -- that we capture. State they were really impressed with the work that they get more for the winner. With this swing and then trying to cut out some holes and that so I think that you know once they cannot. Moved to that end in and hitting becomes a lot more involved in the process that we'll see some more but at this point I think he's doing the right things. Dan appreciate the ballots in the desert next week. -- sounds good.
