Daytona 510. Days away. Speed weeks are underway Scott let's be -- president's got back. Back again for another season -- -- to take down three years in a row the let's start with the new Jan six car. What does that mean to the layman like most people watching me no clue if that. Mean intelligent sixth car that's really the storyline heading into this NASCAR season and there were really two objectives behind it one was more manufacturer identity. The previous car of tomorrow while great with some safety innovations within the sport. It was kind of a one size fits all vehicle and whether you know this fan result of the sports always been about avid fans wanting to cheer for their forwards -- there Toyota's accelerate and and they lost that manufacturer identity that was number one. Number two is the aerodynamic package with the Carson this -- six car. He's a 160 pounds lighter than the car of tomorrow. And what that means it's it's gonna create about half the downforce as the previous car and it's gonna put the driving back in the driver's hands because it's going to be harder to enhance. So it's really more emphasis on the driver. And the crew chief because the crew chief through adjustments they make to the chassis. Can create mechanical downforce so I think it's really going to be exciting that that the harder to handle Carnell. It's gonna have more grip less aerodynamic. Dependency. Because with the car tomorrow when -- car would get in the lead lap they get out there and they were hard to catch of the new car is gonna create better side by side racing they believe. And it'll be interesting to see but it's clearly the talk of the off season is. Are a lot of concern from the drivers because they haven't had a lot of time did you draft testing on this -- -- one and there was an accident and so. Things seem a little Dicey for this -- and it is an and that's the scary part about -- into the Daytona 500 it's the first race of the year it's a new car it's a super speedway 200 plus miles an hour or so. They've done some testing to your point Brian that they did have that wreck that we see here right on the screen to cut 22 cars and that's led the downside of the pack racing that's what the fans want to know vs. The -- -- car racing or lead the pack like that but. Will be interesting to see that they're gonna and NASCAR's not gonna. It this isn't necessarily the -- all season long they won't make modifications because that is so we -- as the season goes on. To make sure these are objective and Brad Keselowski the defending champion but Matt Kenseth is the defending Daytona champion. What are you give an advantage to going into this season well that that's and that was the other and you seem to rely a lot of movement -- -- and so Matt -- has now left long time. -- -- Roush racing he's now with Joseph Gibbs. So he's moved over to a Toyota from a -- so sit down there early indications he and his crew chief for get along pretty well and in the third they had some of the highest. Practice speeds down at Daytona so. It's going to be consistency because typically one auto manufacturer has an advantage you know they figured out the setup. Head into the race but with this car tomorrow it's all up for -- you can throughout your notes from the prior season it's up for grabs in early indications are it's kind of wide open right now but yeah. Said Jimmy Johnson. At one time stranglehold dominate every single year and now he has a one and I think to two consecutive years. What do you think his mindset is going into this year well I gotta believe he's hungry to never -- he's likes he got used to winning those championships he doesn't are. Unprecedented in this. Court he and Chad can -- probably the best chemistry of any driver crew chief out there but that's -- he's going to be back you can never count him out. But I think that's what's refreshing about the sport Tony Stewart two years ago Brad Kozlowski knew what. Rickey still has juniors another exciting. Story two time Nationwide Series he had no chance. He's a -- -- it wasn't particularly exhausting was dating Danica who admitted to me I ran into a rout of Charlotte the NASCAR preview weekend last weekend. Ask him how he's doing set on the BC a lot more of young who's been a lot more time in Chicago these days is. Danica as a residence here in downtown Chicago two blocks away yet so. -- as Dale Earnhardt junior Stewart pointed out they seem to have a lot in common they both like racing -- Well we'll see what develops I -- what do you expect from Danica Patrick -- kidding aside I mean she's. A star but she really isn't a -- because of racing she's a gorgeous girl and she's a driver and unusual combination it really is a mean she's been a great. Boon for the sport bringing in the female audience she had a modestly successful year on the Nationwide Series last year finish in the top ten that was their goal. She's just got to get more seat time she's I've got Tony Gibson who's your crew chief. Tony Stewart made the decision she's racing for Stewart harper Haas racing made the decision to give her Ryan Newman's crew chief who's -- to be very patient. In developing young drivers so I think that'll be good for what. She's a competitor we know that -- I would love her spunk and I think it's great the fact that she's competing. We know competitive advantage whatsoever in a male dominated sport. Thank you for being here we have a bad again this year. You're trying to -- we have on two years and around 03.
