We -- like to walk into the program. Former longtime NFL general manager than doing Patriots in the Kansas City Chiefs Scott Pioli to the program talked a little bit -- new GM Phil -- the Chicago Bears. Obviously got a long. History a little bit rice it's a little bit that history with new Bears general manager Phil Emery just your thoughts on solo Emery and did you ever think that he wouldn't get a shot at being a general manager. I hope it's because spilled into -- feels one of the best people. In terms of human -- I've ever worked with in this industry I actually had some history with -- prior to this does he was a scout I was on the road I'll -- I admit Phil -- meant. Met him initially through Thomas to -- off. Phil is one of the finest people and -- workers I've been associated with the scheme and I'd say I got to know him. Through Thomas and -- kinda hired him somewhat. Blindly we've never worked together had had we just had this relationship. I brought him in because of the guy he was he did an incredible job he's incredibly thorough are working detailed. And -- -- -- Alex -- forgotten where he's at mission union he's a lot more open minded that you should be you know and AB he's. And did the bears' NC Chicago really look at guys like -- What you mentioned though the homework that he's done especially the -- to hire new head coach mark trust and and I I have to say and I think a lot of Chicago Bears fans were little shocked because here Lovie Smith was attendance ex coach but. Doing his research to hire mark trust and coming what does that say because his belief is obviously to get this offense going and Chicago. You don't part of this is bill's background as a scout knew him before he was a scout he -- -- coach and he was a strength coach he knows about research finding people. Something that did that Iowa so -- was PTQ and rarer about bill is he doesn't he's not gonna go for the low hanging fruit. You know when I say that it's easy sometimes just do things that looked very obvious. But -- thorough like he was and I know there was a bit of impatience and today in terms of what the Bears are doing what Phil was doing. He want to be thorough it's not about getting the first guy it's about getting the right guy. What he did -- he went through the entire process he's very thoughtful. And he eventually came with a guy that he still was the right fit not only for himself. But for the Bears the organization and truthfully the roster that they have. Right now when you look at Phil Emery probably is nets' biggest decision. Has decided he wanted to give Jay Cutler. A new new contract. Obviously you've had some great quarterbacks in your history in Tom Brady to quote unquote franchise. I type of quarterback won your thoughts as a as a general manager I'm Jay Cutler in. You know to the decision -- Phil Emery you know is it you know what ultimately do you have do you think the direction the Bears could go by here. That you what's important to you come out piggyback afford to saint. Phil brought in a guy. Who has coached quarterbacks had great success with quarterbacks and has been successful. With a lot of offenses so -- is gonna continue to grow and improve which is tremendous talent and he's matured I mean we've seen this player -- He has talent you can win. With Jay Cutler. He's now put a coach in place. That's going to be able to help him get to the next level or continue to grow so I think this was intentional where it's a really good marriage in order for. This is going to be good -- for. Was made with him in mind and it get past -- America both sides serving one another Scott appreciate your time to talk in the game always great to -- thank you very much appreciated.
