The head coach of the Chicago Bears marked what trust and at the 2013. Indianapolis combine Indianapolis Indiana. Who coached the process started the day he got named head coach of the Chicago Bears. I mean just talk about that in order to build a world championship. Obviously it's it starts with the little things. Dallas you know that the good part about it is it got a great partner in this Phil Emery and his personnel department and we've been able to. Put together a really good staff of good coaching failure waiters good teachers and really good. Guys with great people skills so we are off to a good start. Can you plan for everything. I mean let's face there's always been little things that picked up that don't go according to plan and how do you factor in all those variables. Well I think it's just so you work through the process together as much information as you can. Do you you you talk to the people that can give you the the insight that you need because I am new to it you know I'm new to the process. Of the with the Chicago Bears but phils on a great job of of communicating with me and we communicate on a daily basis and given me an understanding of how things are laid out in the organization it's been really fun and are really just a very smooth process and last five weeks. As you continue to build your playbook and obviously dive into all these potential draft picks -- free agents. That media a part of your team I guess I guess the main thing how do you get it altered to fit together meeting diagnosing. One here is our playbook these are the type of players we need depth to go after that I really going to be the most impact full. Chicago Bears well I think the biggest thing is that we have a playbook that that that is conducive for taking on talented football players with good character. And then it's our job to develop them and put -- system of football together that can. Can create an environment for them to so special -- And use their talents so. You know we've got a system of football on all three phases that we think can do that that. You know -- week we will have a you know long discussions with our personnel people about. You know what what the best guys are for our football team and then it's our job again to develop them. And they have that system that aren't allowed summit of the up to to be successful individually and collectively. You've had so much success and so many different systems and I think it Ron Amadon West Coast -- Rich Gannon speaks fairly. Very highly of you but Aaron -- when -- new coaches and you just sort of steps and it's going to be a compilation. Of a lot of different offenses maybe can you give Bears fans a little insight does that mean man schemes don't schemes what what type of look -- -- You know you know what once we've we've evaluated our talent come -- the their OTAs and -- mini camps but you know I think we've got enough football. To -- the fifth we'll we'll have enough football to fit the players that we have been. You know that the the NFL's universally with university systems where. You know there's there's there's. Enough football up there within the framework of our our package that to accommodate the guys on our football team and in their skill level. When you're down here evaluating players how. How do you give in to a player's heart his head to find out how much he loves football I think you do -- number different ways you do it. Observational only -- mean there's people on the floor there's people you know you can see things just walking down the hall of passing so you're always. Looking for Stafford -- demeanor tips number one. On -- we're gonna have an opportunity to speak with them at different guys to speak with them at different times. And minister sun going you know as we work. Through the compliment after the come by the right after the draft and and bring players in to get to know -- even better. Well before we let you go wanna get injured quarterback will be Jay Cutler has always it's -- probably most critical position on a team your guy is probably one of the most talented quarterbacks throughout the league there's no. Doubt about that I -- just from your perceptions of what do you feel you can do to take Jay Cutler's game to the next level. I think that's it be premature to get anything specific I could tell you this I'm excited to coach him. A number two it's I think he's just speaking with them he's got to his heart's in the right place he's got the intelligence level certainly to handle football. And certainly the skill set I don't I think that he wants to be a part of something really special here. And he's willing to have to do some self evaluation some. And and really look hard at his play over the last few years and and we're gonna do everything like we can. Tell that to provide him with the resources and and the opportunity surround him to succeed and to succeed at the highest level. -- and that'll be it at that sequence that started the day we got the job. Coach I notice a small piece of the puzzle got a lot -- lot of work to do thanks for joining incidents mentioned.
