Out of the Blackhawks respond to being the hunted. I think they thrive on it. I think there -- enjoying it I think this is a perfect example the season started -- And you get two or three games in everybody's making a joke they could run the table and go undefeated and suddenly you know with 1819 games in -- still undefeated and nobody's under the illusion that's actually gonna happen but. Part of it is enjoying the ride and I think they're doing exactly that live but the play really positive hockey right now. I love this story right now it's -- so much fun and and obviously the ratings on Comcast here -- through the roof in the building was rocking. But I gotta be caution you know -- a little bit here. It's not how they're playing it now it's two months from now right and they can run into a hot goaltender that can who's gonna wander around and they've won the presidents cup numerous times there are other teams of one of his size and numerous times only about very quickly so knock on wood. They're able to carry this through we got to be cautious since to me what the street. Does is it done from a bull's -- on the back as far as other teams in more. Than the expectations in the city nine Oakland -- skate with the cup. It's a failure. Dominant that it really does and what I'm saying that is just. It's a cool straight but it really means nothing if they don't win a hell -- I'm very pass fail when it comes to sports you've got to hold that cup and you've got to hold that title at the end or just want. It was a nice little streak in. Everyone forgets about it if you don't get a raise your season's failure. Exactly. That's always been my -- but I'm the same way ahead I would have never had a thank god we've argued this if -- sometimes if the Cubs thought this year going 81 and -- as well that's a big success that's what I'm not a moral victory it's a failure like the Sox had a nice season last year but it was a moral victory a -- the last -- this season there was nothing you a moral victory out of -- It's it is a very pass -- business and we everyone that is -- -- -- illusion that it's not. Or things are what -- they were expected them. To finish fifth and they finished second -- to Gracie they'll fail Minnesota has Duke its fans for years the twins fans have bought in and drank they Kuwait for years being that little engine that could. You know I think it goes without saying that so obviously every team to start the season that's the goal at least that's what they say it the reality of it is. Does the team actually believe it when the season starts you can go to every single NHL team and ask every single guy on the team as -- what's the goal is here and they're gonna say to win the Stanley Cup. Went three fourths of them know that's not gonna have run and yet but this team is different I think they did approach it with a -- that mentality it's -- and yes where he said. A word to try to get out of the gate quick quicker than anybody expected but -- obviously the Stanley Cup is the goal. But there -- that you're not a hockey beat writer notre radios radio host. As a radio -- how excited are you about what the Hawks are doing well I think it's great obviously Rivera said that this isn't that part of the ride is not part of the experience. Do you really wanna go through a season where there. The weather -- -- -- 500 hockey and get in the playoffs they get a nice run going and and ultimately as a free wanted to that's a nice story or do you wanna go on this -- your trajectory -- -- part of the excitement about what. That's part of the experience that goes above and beyond what's actually happening but what you said about it's a black white business it's pass fail Welker told the story that -- -- and some of the works for the Yankees. If she said beginning of every season about a week before opening day. One of the Steinbrenner either George when he was alive or the other comes in every employees in this auditorium she -- until every -- other than players. And he says -- two goals you're the best customer service and we win the World Series and if we fall short either one were failures. Most teams don't say that -- to medal whatever she say we luckily big gains in September what does it. I think the great teams a great organizations in the great franchises. Have that mentality. And it's easy to pick those out and an NFL NBA fan and and then you they also the teams that can do it. The Yankees can do -- they have the -- to do it they can make that claim you think the Houston Astros to do that. They want to see that they're gonna say that you think they believe it not first second. And so they have to find these little moral victories or these these milestones they can sell it snows building block right of accomplishments to ultimately reset goalie can't throw open the doors and owner general manager. I'm a mediocre team and try to throw that I'm getting married and I intuit. Interest in what I would agree with you there who gets the most credit for this team right now Stan -- He really didn't make a lot of moves but he also didn't make a lot of moves to go to bat which could be an investment exactly or Joel Quenneville fours -- player I'd say the players. In general they came they came to camp ready in shape. They were talking amongst each other they practiced with each other all lots. Long before this thing with settled so I give most of the credit to the players and Joel Quenneville has really orchestrated this really well. Really well and you're out there a lot more what what about the effect -- -- seemingly growing up. He's done that for sure I don't know behind closed doors -- it's like my perception but but the perception of yeah he's he seems a lot more serious than and I think the fact that he played overseas. He came into camp really sharp right off the bat he's a mid season form right off the bat so he deserves a lot of credit you're absolutely. Schedule. And also deserves a lot of credit there was heat on him. Supposedly in the -- aren't as good as they may need to these guys have responded. What is very would you say he goes right now it's second best coach second best slash coach manager in the city. Set to. I'd have to say he's the -- -- Who'd be had -- I think I think Andre Tippett knows he hasn't won a ring killed that I think I understand the hall of Famer he retired they go over 500 wins at a Stanley Cup. I think Thibodeau does more with less than anybody in this attitude is a great coach -- -- -- lose in the locker room. Right now and droll. Even in the down time Celtic loses -- -- today I think if kids had certain kind of guys he would lose it but he has guys are still drink the -- it he that is absolutely correct so pay it if -- Giants now owner -- out there and England is one of the favorite people Bill Belichick and if you're not drinking the -- -- You're out in the buying into the you don't have to like me but this is -- I think you know what I actually do like him now more so than than we dollar people think on the outside and I think. You know I think Joseph likes to -- he likes to take -- adamant and an economy fun but I think. They would they would they would go that extra distance from this I think you'll like -- guy when you're playing great through January. I think you start it. You you might still like a guy we have that nagging doubt when you're going to a 6242. Whenever this little firmer I think that that's just natural as a part of winning and losing when you're winning everybody loves everybody. When -- losing if the losing remains consistent. But I think the mentality if you have a finger pointing guys I think -- it happens but again the makeup of this team whether it's done on purpose because they know what guards did a great job of bringing the right care to -- exactly noted as Eric they might find him very odd. Indeed -- day diet but they buy into him and ultimate respect this guy was coach of the -- first here. Probably should have been coach of the year last year and up until the month of February might have been coach of the year for three straight years so. They have a ton of respect for this guy like Vladimir veteran none of which is digging him all the time will come out and I'm in. I -- not be done but I mean flat Ivey came in you can tell he's completely overwhelmed by you know close out drills fortified. I'm glad that this is what you do so let us.
