Blackhawks for the first time over forty years are cover boys in Sports Illustrated. But some people say that's not a good thing. Mr. -- what do you think about. Being on the cover. Fit and the hawks' streak what do you think well it doesn't come out of tomorrow things I value the -- -- writing on on the you can blame for that necessarily it raises an interesting discussion though because. They're both Sports Illustrated covers claiming the Hawks brought hockey back. After the lockout. And there's a discussion on -- whether that's true or whether hockey was fine without them. Attendance has been up you went out but before the hot streak Doug he crazy. But they get a national presence now like Sports Illustrated. And it's an issue discussion and just how much this isn't exactly Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire saved baseball with all the -- steroids it's. Bringing hockey to a national. Stature but in hockey markets hockey's been -- since the second the lockout and that's just the way -- are. But -- national presence. It's cities and either don't have hockey city for hockey isn't big talk show is new show us. Every -- was talking about it'll abroad as tweeting about the Chicago -- I was bigger than a Sports Illustrated cover that has got to be huge for the sport absolutely -- in this sport needed from a from a nationally get from a national perspective if you're in. You know Nebraska right now with your corn hat on. You all listen you know the Blackhawks are doing really well yeah but is this a short term. A short term you know jump start and now that this streak is over and you know hockey markets were there's still going very well. The peripheral just falloff if it helps bring them back as you know they were there rather consciousness for like six months in this. Puts them back where they were it's always gonna be -- -- sport it's never gonna be the NFL it's never going to be NBA but you look at the ratings NBC's ratings are through group of some all time record the Blackhawks Red Wings being published -- one of the greatest regular season games I've ever seen. Was the what ratings record Comcast locally in Chicago is talk every game every game yeah that is a record I mean if -- get in hockey markets -- fine. What the Blackhawks streak over the -- and means a big city a mean team with a lot of stars recognizable stars English speaking stars let's be honest it. Really raises the profile nationally which if it doesn't hurt you yeah NHL. You wanna talk about the lockout anymore they're talking about the Blackhawks -- all of this is really nice and I've enjoyed being part of the streak and I know you have as well the let's get when you play. I got I don't know did you did you see me in -- now. -- talk about what's really important here you know the playoffs which is you know coming up in a couple of us now for it but sooner than we all thought Tom. Goaltending is obviously always the bottom line when you get to play -- you know how the Hawks. Okay the last couple of games obviously it's been you know off a little bit all those guys but obviously playing seven games in eleven days -- something right and. See how they did they're going on a four game road trip coming up starting Thursday Columbus red -- Columbus won Monroe. And is already played the Hawks really tough three times let's see how they do on this road trip but yet two days off without practice which is unheard of in in in hockey season to get back to work tomorrow and go to Columbus let's see how they do on this before they you know before circuit in the panic switch. They're still built for the playoffs and all the depth Patrick Sharp will be back by them. They're making moves you know they they did the -- Demont stored on a Rockford they brought in Jimmy Hayes. Maybe he gets a crack at that second line left wing that -- vacated maybe they can reassemble the third line that we put stalwart and nickel back about their -- -- works so well. Let's do a few days here give if you -- -- -- 45 -- most are wondering things but. A two game losing streak after 24 game point streak I think we can all definitely grade I don't even know when the trading deadline -- this your third and April 3 -- obviously much later than normal right to do they do anything even at this juncture think about doing anything. To improve -- if if if they stay healthy from here on out if they don't have any more injuries Patrick Sharp will be back by then. Armed I think they probably stand relatively pat me they had a -- for -- that a guy can win a faceoff tougher than that and if you face offs and besides Jonathan Toews. On the I don't think you'll see any dramatic moves Stan Bowman has said that. If you need help right now it's coming from property thinks he's got -- and more in the imperial these guys and contribute in the NHL right away it's.
