Transcript
Welcome up to Wake Forest kept Lewis along with -- moon Mullin and we had a chance to meet the team in free agents today first of -- let me just ask you this. Were you surprised when he saw these two guys land -- the Bears. You know actually you more surprised with bush -- I think he was the best left tackle on the market have good Jake Long entries notwithstanding. You knew they were interest at that position and -- night. I knew it was a priority is to do what and number twenties Phil Emery said is very hard to draft a starting tackles twice this Harvard figured that really would be number one and one day in -- that -- I thought the -- record big effort to keep that so when it it was a surprise with both. But with that with Busch run that was the best tackles that they took priority when after that guy. And I think the good thing about this is I think when you -- kind of free agency the one thing you wanna do if you're gonna make a splash he certainly wanna get guys -- going to be starters and they did that the situation these are not role players these are not going to be guys -- complain now and then these are guys -- you can count on -- to lead your offense. He really is and and this is a -- going into -- -- -- this is an anchor this is a kind of guy you can leave alone which the Bears haven't had either -- -- the last couple years so. You know being able to to set it and forget it on Jay Cutler's blind side you know you hope that will translate into Jay Cutler feeling more confident. Hopefully I'm going on the ball much longer to get that they are exactly where these are these are plugging in day one starters so. We've obviously seen over the last couple of years that this organization a lot of money now and the offensive side of the ball really no more excuses for this offense not to produce not to put points on the board. It do you sort of see like -- this offense may be obviously some tweaking to take place on the offensive line do you sort of feel like this offense is going to be set by the time. We get to training camp. Took it will be fun to talk about every every day we'll have is -- to cover. Let's put this we'd better be because here's Jay Cutler and everybody's that he got put more rounded well we got to the re signed Pro Bowl running back interest on the Pro Bowl left tackle got a got a horrible wide receiver. A 55 catch tight end and oh by the way -- when -- got a new head coach and offensive coordinator. If we can't put much more around that guy. And some point. Everybody else needs to take a step up yet again a guy like push rod makes the whole offense line better things -- coverages or protections and so forth so. I think -- -- -- all of a sudden almost as well as Lester we're looking forward Brandon Marshall I do. No -- -- who have now they got even more pieces of this is and also and it's an offensive football to the F certainly in other. Still going to be some work to be done but at least to this part when you look ahead of the offense shouldn't be any excuses. Heading into the -- thirteenth season former month I'm concludes that does for us up here and like horse.
