Kip and Moon: Should Bears go after Roach over Urlacher?
Transcript
I welcome up to a Lake Forest -- Lewis along with moon Mullin -- you know we had a chance to meet these new free agents but the big question I think a lot of Bears fans wondered. What about guys like Brian Urlacher Nick -- Israel Idonije. Lance Louis and what are the chances that these guys are going to be able to come back especially under the certain salary cap restrictions of this team now have us. The technical -- until the divulge that much information we're up against the cap. There may be sending a message to the agents but I thought he doesn't usually -- around with for a think. You know you use we have a situation where you -- the Bears can afford both Brian Urlacher and Nick Roach and approaches and play Brian could be around him around the NFL. You have to make some decisions Lance Louis -- as a guard. Is a free agent that victory gave -- immediately obvious gonna start probably start training camp at right -- competing at that position so. Is Idonije and now he Phil Emery had mentioned down to come by that was somebody they wanted to bring back so. Of that group I would see him he's probably the one the most apt to go for because away provides to different positions on the let me ask you this a lot you also can't give a choice between Nick -- and Brian Urlacher. Could you take out of who I would take who would you take boy. They both watch in this thought probably that -- I think this is a I think it's a franchise level -- and to me it's unfortunately I would never say this -- probably Nick Roach because of the future. And I thought and approach filled in very nicely it's the middle linebacker gives you some options people what you do with that strong. Unfortunately Bryan's future is not it's not front of them what. Redundant but. It's some pointers and have to -- transition you like to think that they can keep him for that reason. But it just hard to see under the cap that they keep both. Yeah I would agree I think we look long term I think -- makes. The more sense because he can get three or four years now let's look ahead of the draft when you talk about the draft what do you think they're gonna go now that they have some of these situations salt. Look at I think it became and to -- the draft started yesterday and essentially -- that they got that -- at that tight -- and everybody -- they're -- -- To me you're really that great spot of best available and you can help yourself and guard can -- -- at linebacker Geno Hayes is on the other there were bodies here. The -- cornerback in the pipeline. What I would also see you know this team gave up a third round pick last year and this year. Wore it in the trade of Brandon Marshall no real reason number one he can trade down even if it's staying in the first round pick up the equipment and in the draft. Points thing that the people will get a third round picks I would I would actually look for them maybe your tree down and try to add that -- back. Certainly it's going to be a lot of interest in moves I think taking place from now maybe all the way up until training camps earlier -- the next month that you. Of it definitely did start the Bears just as the beginning of free agency kicks off so we will see what moves they make here in the coming months that that the press appeared. He's been on and kept Lewis up -- like Forrest.
