Transcript
While we were aren't able to reach an agreement would Bryant have both sides have decided to move forward. Pretty cold way to end the tenure of a guy whose goal of the hall of fame who you'll probably get -- retiring his Jersey and has been the facing your -- -- I gotta believe that was. The White Sox the Bears the Cubs the bull there would be a press conference tomorrow and they would have some type of a deal. Maybe Brian is going to be a part of that he said fine you don't want him gone several ties and wanna be part of our press coverage anything. It's over -- -- with me and -- with you and that's it. Yeah that's exactly right I mean maybe does -- part of it maybe they don't want the apartment maybe these negotiations didn't go that well maybe things were -- both sides that. -- leaving things on the best of terms right now but in the end this is gonna get ironed out Brian Urlacher probably have his number retired by the Bears don't have Brian Urlacher day it's -- and I mean it's not like the Brett Favre Packers break -- of a few years ago this'll get ironed out at some point I think more near term after Bryant retires but it is shocking to see them not have a. All right Vaughn McClure of the trip just waited that he got off the -- Brian Urlacher said Bears gave me take it or leave it offer a one year two million dollars. So there you have gone and prior have had an -- actual working relationship for a long time. That's what he just waited so there ego that tells me the batters in one back. Correct and they said if if if you flavor that's fine otherwise today we'd love to keep it the score here's five bucks like him work for five bucks happy elated to raise a little bit actually. Starbucks and they come back get his pocket at. So there you have it again Bears and Brian Urlacher parting ways Vaughn McClure the trip tweeting. But take it or leave -- offer a one year two million dollar so des Cahill the -- it. Unrest defensively you've got one linebacker that could start on your roster right now. You've got -- Older defense. When -- that. I think if you have complete the unrest in Tillman anti -- gets here. Now you really do in -- Soviet or whatever. I don't. But I think. That. And I said this before I'm just afraid that trust and has taken his -- off the defensive side of the ball. And he's concentrating too much on all fronts. You know we were talking that that. Debt defense never laid down on Lovie Smith they always played hard. Now with. A new coordinator coming in and and in the face of the franchise gone. It'll be interesting to see how hard these guys play. I think the defense is in somewhat of a state of disarray right now I mean you have one starting linebacker you have no idea who's gonna fill the other two slots just -- lost Nick Roach. Do most your record defensive players being -- well over thirty years old right now. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And I am with a defensive side of the ball worth I think there's a lot more questions now and our answer. Another we see that now that Urlacher is -- we see the Bears really didn't want him at all -- Nick Roach move makes even less sense I know Nick Roach is by no means a star player. He's a good player above average player. But he knows defense and he's a guy that's been here now you have to starting positions to fill. And letting -- would destroy the most important element that the you don't agree of the cover -- d.s and no question so Lance Briggs is great he's also another year older. So what do you do you're gonna draft two linebackers start in both are we have been the new -- -- conversation -- move Shea McClellan the linebacker now. I mean what is or do you literally have one linebacker and roster. Well that's definitely part of it who knows I -- they don't -- McLellan if he can't play defensive end and he's not gonna feel pass rushing dominant defensive that you have a need to play better could he be very specific that he is not going to be a linebacker. But all of a sudden you look up and go through. We don't have an outside -- here we go in the middle linebacker. Well you think he's gonna be a dominant defensive -- if you really think he's that guy. Then you leave the defensive -- but he's not going to beat you want just an average defensive end with your number one pick a year ago when you have a lot of needs and maybe he could be. He is a linebacker that actually is an impact player. That possession well Yvonne just waited again Vaughn McClure of trip it was that ultimatum not a negotiation Urlacher said I wanted to be at Chicago. I wanted to finish here. Doesn't sound like the Bears wanted him back in any way shape or -- I don't think they're going to be retiring his uniform anytime soon I think this might be so they do he may have been their lives are on the road yes. The -- a lot of fans retiring there laughter uniforms but it'll be really intra. Seem to see if he gets more money when you go somewhere else whatever TV signs with because I'm convinced he's going to silent somebody will get more money than that two million dollar somewhere else. Because if he doesn't. They probably should took the Bears -- -- was an ultimatum and it might have been the best offer we'll get we'll say. But one point it becomes was Ive been here thirteen years and as you have she talks about you wanna pay for past performance. However I got to spend this great for this long in the face of franchise do you -- him. Not more not I'm not a lot more. But from that it's not an insult anyone -- two million is a little bit insulting. I think but. The end result via the means to him was that he's gone and that's they want it so it begin and -- low ball and saying let's make him leave that make it. You can look at -- a year ago we made an offer he didn't wanna be here yeah we don't we don't even know they global. We have no idea I tend to think he'll probably get more somebody that they can't so I still -- -- -- do the Patriots I still think the Patriots are the team to keep and I'm and we talked about during the break I mean they love guys who other teams that are washed up. And they do pretty well with them all the way from Randy Moss mentioned Corey Dylan IP -- -- -- now defending Super Bowl trip in that needs a line backing helped. But the houses can look at the Patriots come in off from 2.2. I think he'd love it. He'll get a little more money he go to a team where he thinks he is legitimate chance to win the Super Bowl and you will love to come back to Chicago and do some type of appearances not involving the Bears and holding up his right. I think he would absolutely love the chance to go to the Patriots because -- and chancellors of. Good for him I hope he gets to do exactly what he wants because he's been a heck of a player for all of us to cheer on for a long long time terriers to dig. To Brian Urlacher good luck to -- out there which.
