2017 NFL Draft Profile: Ashland TE Adam Shaheen

2017 NFL Draft Profile: Ashland TE Adam Shaheen

DRAFTED: Second Round (No. 45 overall by Bears)

Adam Shaheen, TE, Ashland

6'6" | 278 lbs.

2016 stats:

57 receptions, 867 yards, 16 touchdowns

Projection:

Second round

Scouting Report:

"Big, fast and athletic, Shaheen will immediately interest teams who are looking for size and traits. He's a poorer blocker than what might be expected for a player with his frame, but he's also a much more dangerous pass catching target. The jump in competition will be substantial and teams will expect him to become a more consistent blocker, but he's a pass catching tight end in a Y-tight end's body. Shaheen has starting potential with an ability to impact a passing game early in his career." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

Raekwon McMillan, LB, Ohio State

6'2" | 240 lbs.

2016 stats:

102 tackles, 7 TFL, 2 sacks, 5 PD, 2 FF

Projection:

Second round

Scouting Report:

"McMillan has too many issues standing his ground and leveraging his gap as an interior run defender and could end up outside in the pros. He might have benefited from playing alongside a slew of NFL talent, but he's active and plays the game with good instincts. He has the potential to become an average starter in the league." — Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

2017 NFL Draft Profile: Florida State OL Roderick Johnson

As part of our coverage leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft we will provide profiles of more than 100 prospects, including a scouting report and video interviews with each player.

Roderick Johnson, OL, Florida State

6'7" | 298 lbs.

Projection:

Second-to-third round

Scouting Report:

"Long-limbed left tackle who has the physical traits that teams want from their blind-side protector, but who is missing some of the body control and balance that is needed to succeed at his position. Despite his balance inconsistencies, Johnson can be a powerful run blocker when he gets defenders framed up. Teams will have to decide if they want to play him on the left or right side, but an offensive line coach will need to try and correct issues with his pass sets and his footwork before he gets his shot." — Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
