President Barack Obama congratulates Cubs on World Series championship

Share

President Obama may be a White Sox fan, but he was more than happy to congratulate the Cubs on their first World Series championship in 108 years.

Obama even extended an invitation to the White House before he officially leaves office in January.

It wouldn't be the first time the Chicago President hosted a Chicago champion, as the Blackhawks visited 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. three times in Obama's two terms, but it would be an opportunity to bring more hometown pride to Washington.

Obama's beloved Southsiders also applauded the Cubs on a fantastic season via Twitter.

We'll see if the Cubs take Obama up on his offer.
