Rhys Hoskins has accomplished something even Cubs core wasn't able to

The Cubs aren't the only National League team with impressive young players.

Phillies rookie Rhys Hoskins has been turning heads so far in his 17-game career.

The 24-year-old first baseman has been absolutely mashing, and Saturday night against the North Siders was no different. He took Kyle Hendricks deep in the bottom of the first for his 10th homer already, which is good enough for an MLB record.

To put that in context, here's a look at how many homers the core Cubs hit in their first 17 MLB games:

Kris Bryant - 0

Anthony Rizzo - 1

Addison Russell - 2

Javy Baez - 5

So, yes, Hoskins' start is pretty insane.

It may be too late to win Rookie of the Year, but the Cubs pitching staff will breathe a sigh of relief after this series.
