Adam Dunn hits his first home run of the spring

Adam Dunn hit his first home run of the spring on Thursday, taking Texas starter Neftali Feliz deep in the first inning for a three-run homer.

The pitch Dunn hit out was a 93 mph fastball on the inner third, which he turned on and walloped over the right field wall. Here's how Feliz tried to pitch Dunn, courtesy of Brooks Baseball:

He tried to go outside with one fastball, two changeups and a slider, the latter of which Dunn fouled off with two strikes. But when Feliz came inside with a fastball, Dunn was ready for it -- which, with two strikes, was a rarity last year.

Six of Dunn's 11 home runs last year came with two strikes. Interestingly enough, Dunn hit the largest number of his home runs (four) with a full count and only hit one with a 1-2 count.

This may only be one at-bat in one spring training game, but it's a nice reminder that Dunn isn't dead yet.
