Andre Rienzo tests positive for Stanozolol, banned 50 games

CSNChicago.comMinor league pitching prospect, Andre Rienzo, has been suspended 50 games for testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, a banned performance-enhancing substance.Rienzo, 23, pitches for the Winston-Salem Dash, the White Sox High-A affiliate. He has a powerful fastball and projects as a reliever if he were to advance higher, but that will have to be put on hold until his suspension ends.In four starts this season, he has logged 25 innings while surrendering 17 hits. He has a league leading 31 strikeouts and the third best ERA in the league at 1.08.
