The end of MLB's lockout could set up a dream scenario for the White Sox.
Already an American League favorite, the Sox could be in the market for another bat, and Chicago hero and free agent Kris Bryant has been thrown out in loose speculation as a potential option.
Bryant certainly could be an answer to the White Sox needs as a former MVP who can play five positions.

Just don't count on it.
It's no secret right field is one area the White Sox could upgrade whenever the lockout and subsequent transaction freeze is lifted. Currently there's potential for a platoon out there, with Andrew Vaughn, Gavin Sheets and Adam Engel as options already on the roster.
The free agent market is littered with intriguing outfielders, including Bryant, Nick Castellanos and Michael Conforto. The Athletic's Jim Bowden recently named the Sox as one of several teams who will be involved in those markets whenever the lockout ends.
But as far as Bryant being a fit, consider the following:
— The White Sox have historically shied away from Scott Boras clients, who typically maximize their free agencies. They inadvertently got one this winter, when starter Dylan Cease switched his representation to Boras. Boras represents Bryant (and Castellanos and Conforto).

— Yasmani Grandal's four-year, $73 million deal is the most lucrative free agent signing in White Sox history. The likelihood of them spending twice that much now — which Bryant could command in free agency — seems remote at best.
— The White Sox lineup is right-handed heavy. In that case, someone like Conforto might make more sense than Bryant — though Conforto may command a multi-year deal close to $100 million.
Heck, as far as free agent former Cubs go, Kyle Schwarber seems more of a fit for the White Sox as a lefty power outfield bat who won't cost as much.
Bryant should have no shortage of suitors after the lockout; the Mariners, Phillies and Giants are potential fits.
And though he would be an impactful addition to a Sox lineup that already is one of the best in baseball, it's more dream than anything.
