Dave Inserra, Maine South won't miss a beat after 2016 8A title

It's not all about how you start. It's about how you finish.

No one knows that theory better than Maine South head coach Dave Inserra. Inserra and the Hawks started off the 2016 season with a less-than-impressive 1-2 record, then had its 77-game conference winning streak snapped by New Trier in Week 7. Yet even at 6-3 the Hawks remained a dangerous team. They caught fire in the postseason and rolled to the 2016 Class 8A state title.

Inserra, whose Hawks took part in the recently held Red Grange Classic 7 on 7 and Linemen Challenge at Wheaton South High School, took a few minutes to look back at the Hawks' magical 2016 postseason run along with previewing the 2017 Hawks.
