Eagles fans sending Cody Parkey money on Venmo after missed field goal

The agony of defeat and the thrill of victory.

As Bears fans dealt with the shock of kicker Cody Parkey's potential game-winning field goal clanking off the upright, Eagles fans celebrated.

As Bears fans circulated a GoFundMe campaign to buyout Parkey's contract, Eagles fans sent Parkey money on Venmo -- or at least someone with the same name.

NOTE: We tried to verify this was happening, but there have been a lot of Cody Parkey accounts created on Venmo by fans hoping to cash in.

Along with the contributions come messages.

"On dollar per goalpost," wrote a fan. "The real MVP," wrote another. "Thanks for the win," another commented.

"Sleeper agent," wrote one fan alluding to Parkey's two-year stint with the Eagles to start his career.

Perhaps Eagles fans should be sending that money to Treyvon Hester, the Eagles defensive lineman who got a fingertip on the kick to alter its trajectory just enough to miss the field goal.
