Joey Bosa ejected for targeting in what is likely last game with Buckeyes

Friday's Fiesta Bowl was already expected to be Joey Bosa's final game at Ohio State.

And his last appearance in a Buckeyes uniform didn't even last one full quarter.

Bosa, who is expected to announce that he'll enter the NFL Draft following Friday's game, was ejected in the first quarter for targeting.

Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer lofted a pass that was intercepted by defensive back Tyvis Powell. But Bosa appeared to lead with the crown of his helmet while hitting Kizer in the chest. Bosa was flagged for targeting, which was upheld after review, and he was ejected from the game.

It was an unusual way for a college career to come to an end, if Bosa does declare for the NFL Draft, which head coach Urban Meyer told reporters Thursday that Bosa would be doing. Many project that Bosa will be one of the first players selected in the draft.

Bosa tacked on three tackles to an impressive career total before being ejected. He finishes his three-year career with 26 sacks and each of the last two Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year awards. He was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 as a sophomore.
