Some of the latest recruiting news and notes from Edgy Tim:

— Johnsburg senior offensive linemen Joe Moore decided to end his recruiting process on Monday night, giving Air Force his verbal commitment.

"I really think there is no better opportunity for life than the Air Force Academy," Moore said. "I'll go make an official visit once my season is completed, and I'm just very excited about my decision."

Moore, who recently added an offer from Air Force filled us in on why he decided to pledge to the Falcons.

"I just think that the Air Force Academy sells itself. The overall academics along with the high level of football were definitely a plus in my decision. Air Force offered me as an offensive lineman recruit."

— Lyons Township three-star junior quarterback Ben Bryant had a busy weekend. Bryant led the Lions to a 25-23 win over Naperville North last Friday in the first round of the Class 8A state playoffs. The following day he was at Wisconsin for a gameday visit.

“I really enjoyed the trip to Madison,” Bryant told Jon Veldhuis of BadgerBlitz.com on Sunday. “It’s always fun being there for a gameday. Camp Randall is such an amazing atmosphere. We also got to go into the locker room after the game, which was a lot of fun."

Bryant has offers from Wisconsin and Central Michigan and has been drawing strong interest from Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Northern Illinois and Northwestern.

— Immaculate Conception three-star senior running back Jordan Rowell reopened his recruiting in late September after being verbally committed to Northern Illinois. So which schools has Rowell been in contact with so far?

"I've been just really focused pretty hard on school and my team, so I haven't paid a lot of attention to my recruiting lately," Rowell said. "Both Purdue and Illinois have remained in touch. Both schools want to get me on campus right away. I was looking at visiting Illinois this past weekend, but we played our playoff game on Saturday and I had to cancel.

"Once the season is over with, I'll get out. I'll be talking more heavily with schools and getting out to see more of them in person."

— Crystal Lake Central three-star junior offensive guard Wyatt Blake made a gameday visit last weekend to Indiana.

"I went to Indiana for the game against Maryland, and I really enjoyed it," according to Blake. "I liked the atmosphere at Indiana along with (offensive line coach Greg) Frey, and I also like just how beautiful the place is. It was, I think, my third time visiting Indiana, and it was just a good visit."

Blake, who has offers from the Hoosiers along with Central Michigan, Duke, Missouri, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Virginia is planning to make more college visits.

"I'm planning to visit Penn State, Missouri, Notre Dame and Vanderbilt soon."
