Jordan Westerkamp to miss Huskers' bowl game after knee surgery

Jordan Westerkamp's illustrious collegiate career is officially over.

Nebraska has one more game remaining this season, a date with Tennessee in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30, but Westerkamp won't play after undergoing surgery to repair an injury to his meniscus, Huskers head coach Mike Riley announced Thursday.

Westerkamp, a Lombard native and Montini Catholic product, finished his career ranked fourth on the program's all-time receiving list with 1,948 yards and sixth with 129 receptions.

This season, he caught 38 passes for 526 yards and five touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories.

We certainly haven't seen the last of Westerkamp on the football field. Riley said he expects a three-month recovery, which will have Westerkamp ready to work out ahead of the NFL Draft.
