Korean Newspaper declares Chicago Bears Stanley Cup champs

Share

Because the internet works in wonderful and mysterious ways, Twitter user Vinny Oz scooped out an image posted on reddit of The Korea Times sports section. (How one happens to come across such things is beyond me, but that's beside the point.) Before we even get to it, let's establish first how The Korea Times could have just left the Stanley Cup celebrations alone without an ounce of coverage. Especially given that they are on the other side of the globe, there really isn't any obligation to chime in. Kudos, I guess -- for trying?

Despite the effort, the headline in all it's delusional glory reads: "Chicago Bears clinch Stanley Cup." The mental image of this is even funnier than the major copy editing mishap. Just imagine the Bears hoisting the Stanley Cup.... (since the headline naturally opens up a forum of bad Bears jokes, we'll just leave it at this).

Well then, guess this takes care of why the Blackhawks celebration is at Soldier Field. It all makes sense.
