It was a sad day in the world of sports, as two deaths hit the professional landscape.

In the MLS, Columbus Crew midfielder Kirk Urso was pronounced dead at an Ohio hospital at 1:50 a.m. Sunday morning. No cause of death was determined.

The 22-year-old was a native of Lombard, Ill. He had been sidelined since May with a groin injury.

"The thoughts and prayers of the entire Columbus Crew and Hunt Sports Group are with the Urso family in this time of need," the team said in a statement.

In the NFL, Garrett Reid, the 29-year-old son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid, was found dead in his dorm room at Lehigh University Sunday morning.

"Garrett grew up with this team, which makes this news even tougher to process," Eagles GM Howie Roseman said in a press conference.
