Marquee Sports Network on Wednesday announced Beth Mowins, Pat Hughes, and Chris Myers will serve as fill-in play-by-play broadcasters for Jon "Boog" Sciambi in 2021.

Sciambi, who's replacing Len Kasper starting this season, will call majority of Cubs games but also has commitments to broadcast select national games for ESPN.

Mowins has been a broadcaster for ESPN since 1994, primarily calling men's and women's college sports. In 2017, she became the first woman in 30 years to call an NFL game. She will become the first woman to serve as play-by-play announcer in Cubs history.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to work with such a beloved and historic franchise as the Chicago Cubs,” Mowins said. “I am thrilled to be a part of the team at Marquee Sports Network and am looking forward to working alongside some of the best in the business this season.”

Hughes is entering his 26th season as the Cubs radio play-by-play voice. Myers, an NFL play-by-play announcer for Fox who also contributes to NASCAR coverage, was set to be a fill-in broadcaster for Kasper in 2020 prior to MLB shortening the season to 60 games due to COVID-19.

"Cubs television play-by-play has always been a special position, going back to the days of Jack Brickhouse and Harry Caray, both Hall of Famers,” Hughes said. “I'm very much looking forward to it."

Said Myers: “Calling baseball games is a bonus for any broadcaster, but calling Cubs games stirs a rich history and the true fan in all of us. Over the years as a spectator and announcer my experiences at Wrigley Field and with the Cubs have always been special, which is why it's an honor to be even more closely involved in bringing the game to fans of one of the most iconic franchises in sports.”

Marquee also announced they will broadcast 13 Cubs spring training home games, with ESPN picking up one game (March 3 vs. the Mariners).
