For all the Twitter buzz and wishing thinking by Cubs fans, the Masahiro Tanaka sweepstakes had a predictable ending.
The talk all along was the Chicago Cubs were in big on Japanese right-hander Masahiro Tanaka, who signed a 7-year, $155 million deal with the New York Yankees Wednesday.
There are several enticing free agent pitchers left now that Masahiro Tanaka’s gone, but don’t expect the White Sox to be serious contenders.
