Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers will be a Pro Bowler for the seventh time in his 10-year career thanks to the New York Giants.

Peppers will replace Jason Pierre-Paul, who now has to prepare for Super Bowl XLVI and will be unable to participate in Sunday's All-Star game according to ChicagoBears.com.

Peppers had a team-high 11 sacks in his second season with the Bears. He also had five tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. His career 100 sacks ties for third most in the NFL since he joined the league in 2002.

Peppers will become the club's first defensive end to be selected to the Pro Bowl in consecutive seasons since Richard Dent in 1985-86.

He will be joining teammates Matt Forte, Charles Tillman and Corey Graham for the annual All-Star game in Hawaii Sunday.
