Ryan Moore shoots 67 to win John Deere Classic

Ryan Moore showed no Sunday jitters at the John Deere Classic.

The 33-year-old shot a bogey-free round of 67 to claim the trophy and notch his fifth career PGA Tour win.

Moore finished the tournament at 22 under, two strokes ahead of Ben Martin.

Throughout the week, Moore had little trouble with TPC Deere Run, which is located in Silvis, Ill. He posted 65 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday to give him the lead heading into the final day. Martin's ridiculous 62 on Saturday added to the drama, but Moore's quick start and steady finish on Sunday was too tough to catch.

Moore, who played college golf at UNLV, opened his final round with two birdies in his first four holes and never looked back. He closed with eight pars to seal his first PGA Tour win of the season.

Local favorite Steve Stricker, who played collegiantly for the University of Illinois, finished in a tie for 52nd. Stricker has won three John Deere Classics, but an opening-round 70 hurt his chances of adding a fourth.

The PGA Tour heads to North Carolina next, but will return to the Midwest on Sept. 8-11 for the BMW Championship. The event will be held at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind.
