CLEMSON, S.C. -- Rod Hall made a driving layup with 9.3 seconds left to lead Clemson to a 50-49 win over Illinois in the NIT.


After getting run out of the building in a blowout loss to Michigan 10 days ago, the Illini knew what they had to do in the rematch Friday. And they did it.


The story during the Illini’s strong finish to the regular season was freshman Kendrick Nunn.


CHAMPAIGN — Aaron Craft scored 14 points and No. 22 Ohio State held Illinois to 28.3-percent shooting on the way to a scrappy 48-39 win on Saturday.


Last year, the Illini went to the NCAA tournament. They even won a game in the Big Dance.
