United Center adjusts COVID-19 rules for guests

Effective March 22, the United Center will no longer require guests to present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to attend events, the arena announced Tuesday morning.

Neither the Chicago Bulls or Chicago Blackhawks have home games scheduled for this week, so the adjusted protocols will first take hold when the United Center hosts the Midwest Regionals of the NCAA Tournament on March 25 and 27.

The adjustment, according to a release, applies to all future events "until further notice," including concerts and sports games.

The release also reiterated that masks are optional, but recommended, for attending United Center events.

The Bulls play five of their remaining 11 regular-season games at home, but project to host at least two playoff games as well. Nine of the Blackhawks' remaining 19 games are home contests.
